    Buffalo Sporting Goods in Buffalo - owner is very friendly. If you get up to Tyler, Noonday Gun Trader is a very nice shop. Prices are lower than most.

    Just thought I'd add that if you're into clay shooting, there's Greater Houston Gun Club south of the Med Center. You might like it if you can afford to live in West U. It's private and it ain't cheap. But it's nice.

    Ruger SR 9 vs. CZ P-01

    I don't have personal experience with the SR9, but the SR9c (compact) is getting pretty good reviews and is probably more comparable in size to the PO1. Personal preference is what is most important, and I find that my preferences change with my experiences.
