    my pre 27

Nice Score! I know how ya feel I just got a 97% 5" made in '51 w/box. These really are the Cadillac's of S&W.

    Just watching Magnum Force...

Magnum Force is my favorite. Python's, a M29 & Suzanne Summers by the pool !!!

Sniper stops insurgents from 950 yards

I saw a show on how these rifles were built & the fact that ammo is loaded specifically for each one. But I don't remember anything about optics. What kind of scope do they use?

    Carbine is pronounced how?

If anyone in the world knew the correct way to pronounce this it would have to be John Wayne. He had to be right - Car-Bean!

    8" 44 as Home defender ?

Would Dirty Harry have used anything else?! I think it would work great with a good SD load. Over penetration is a concern with hunting type loads. As was stated above, don't be concerned with noise. When you're in an actual shooting you'll have tunnel vision & auditory exclusion...

    a resonable battery (of guns)

You gotta get a S&W model 24 or you'll have to change your name! :D

    Winchester or Benelli?

I was looking at these 2 plus Beretta. I brought home a Beretta 391 Extrema. I love everything about it so far. I'm going to try it on some roosters tomorrow. The Beretta Extrema will cycle everything from the lightest target loads to magnums. It's easy IMO to make a gun that will cycle...

    S&W Model 19-3 {56K warning!!!}

Very Nice! There's just something about a blued P&R smith!

    New, S&W Model 21-4 .44 Special

As many have already said, "NO THANKS"!!! It's really a pity too because they could've made this great but they missed big time! I would only buy one without the lock, frame-mounted firing pin & gold bird crap!

    Range Report - Ruger SRH 7 1/2" .454 Casull

Yeow! That says it all!:D That's exactly what I said followed closely by "WoW"! People who haven't shot one have no idea. The first time I shot mine there were teenie-bopers laughing at me & making comments like "look at that a-hole! He doesn't know how to shoot." I told them what I was...

Help me spend my tax refund...

I just bought a T3 on Monday & just had a nice Zeiss scope on it tonight. I can't wait to shoot it tomorrow!:D

American Rifles--still shoddy after 100 years

I've been looking also & getting just as frustrated. I already have Ruger's & wanted something different. But I really don't like Winchesington either. I've been really admiring a Sako 75 lately (nice stock with awesome checkering).

    Question on a 696 .44

Buy It! I've seen them go for $525-550 & as much as $725 NIB! I guess it depends on where you live though. Gun's must be very high here because I bought one out of state for less than $400. These are just plain Fun to shoot!

TOP 12 revolvers of all time

My Fav's These are my favorite 3 S&W N-Frames - M29's, 24's etc. Ruger Single Six - just too much fun! Colt 1851 Navy - Good enough for Wild Bill Hicock
  15. N

First experience with Cap and Ball!!

Try one in .36 too! Wild Bill Hicock carried a couple of 1851's in .36. I've got one & it's a hoot! Even with full loads the recoil is mild. The only thing is, they're addictive.
