200 GR LRN -- 45 Colt (not ACP)

COL? Thanks for this information. As far as COL goes, is it best to use the same length as I would for the usual LRNFP bullet?

200 GR LRN -- 45 Colt (not ACP)

I have some Laser Cast bullets that I purchased in this size to use in my Springfield Loaded 1911. The .452 diameter does not work well in the 1911. Can I put these bullets to good use in my 45 COLT revolver? What would be a good load? Thanks.

Is my taper crimp tight enough?

Why not just drop a round in the barrel? Seriously. If the round gives you a nice "plunk" sound and is the right overall length, what are you worrying about? The bell is obviously gone, which means your crimp is tight enough.

    Marlin or Winchester 30-30

These are two classics. Think Ford and Chevy -- no clear winner.

What caliber is best for a new gun owner?

22 Caliber BUT a 12 GAUGE shotgun is where I would start. It's easier to learn how to "point" a shotgun if you haven't already had aiming a pistol or long gun ingrained into your mind. They are also great self-defense weapons, hunting tools, and fun to boot.

    Best budget 1911

The Taurus is a solid gun. Shoots just about any ammo accurately and handles well. Hard to beat the price.

    45 ACP 1911 problems

I have the Springfield "Loaded" 1911. I too had some trouble loading for it when I started. My gun clearly prefers OALs on the low side. It's also very important to remove any bell during the crimping step. And, make sure you have a good magazine (which applies to any gun). Eventually...

How to return hammer to down position

Thanks Pete, that would have been the best alternative. I was, though, able to squeeze a finger into the chamber and finally depress the hammer. I only take the trigger group out a few times per year, and it's easy to forget what goes where.

How to return hammer to down position

While disassembling my Beretta 390, I accidentally allowed the hammer to come to a raised position. Now I can't slide the bolt off or get the hammer to go back down. Please let me know if you have a solution. Thanks

    Lever Gun.... .357 or .44 ?

.44 Mag. Use one of the best rounds ever, 44 Sp., for plinking and/or defense.

Blackhawk .45 Colt on layaway... should I get the 44 Spec?

I don't mean to stir up controversy (OK, I do), but I have the BH in 44 mag. I shoot 44 sp for the most part, but do occasionally shoot the thumper round. A nice option to think about. And, yes, I do shoot 45 LC as well. I have three of the best calibers in just two guns.

    Single action in .357?

I have the 50th Anniversary Blackhawk. It's a fine piece. Very sturdy, even heavy. Adjustable sights. What's not to like?

LRN and LRNFP -- Same Load Data?

I'd like to load some 230 gr LRN bullets for my 45 Colt revolver. I haven't seen any published data for that bullet, but there are published loads for the LRNFP. Will the LRNFP load data work just as well for LRN bullets? Thanks.

Using 45 ACP cast bullets in a revolver?

I, too, would like to try some 230 gr lrn bullets in my 45 Colt. Are there any published data for this particular load? Thanks.
