Axis deer is better than anything on the list, followed by elk, pronghorn, caribou. After I found axis, I dont eat much whitetail anymore. Good thing I have plenty of people lined up to take all the deer meat I can give them.
We have all of ours set to go off every morning and evening for 3 seconds. And, the later in the year it becomes, the more the feeders really bring them in.
It has a double spring? Thats the first I have ever heard. The Ultra's I own all have one piece springs. And, if you can take it apart without the takedown tool, yes, that is a problem. You have no spring tension(which is because your spring is in 2 pieces) Go to Midway and get some Wolf springs...
You can find a good used Winchester 70 or Remington 700 for around $500. The good thing about a lot of used rifles you find out there is they just havent been shot that much. Most people carry their rifles a lot more than they shoot them.
