    Getting XTP bullets to expand?

I just google Matt's Bullets and follow the link. Their website has changed looks. Same products, just a different look to the site. Grumpy

    Getting XTP bullets to expand?

For the XTPs, .380/9mm, .38/.357, .44, .45acp, .45 Colt, and .500 Mag. This was not a one-time purchase, but the result of picking up a couple boxes whenever any major outlet had a sale. I have not done any expansion testing on the XTPs, but I have tested a sweet 275gr gas-checked cast HP from...

    Getting XTP bullets to expand?

Expansion? Hard to beat gas-checked lead hollow points. That said, I have 1,000s of XTPs sitting on my shelves waiting to be loaded into my rounds. Grumpy

    Less Used Powders

Yes, they are, only Lyman listed an OAL of 1.075" Grumpy

    Less Used Powders

Mycin, what is their OAL? Grumpy

    Less Used Powders

I'm using data out of Lyman's 51st Edition. It is data for the 125gr Sportsmaster specifically. It does list 7.8gr as max with the same OAL. What is interesting, Lyman does list +P loads for the .38 Special but does not list any +P lads for the 9mm. Grumpy

    Powder handling mistakes

Let's see; I've dropped a charged case while transferring it from the loading tray to the press, dumped a dipper full of powder on the way to the scale pan, all fairly minor mishaps, I did however dump a 1/2 pint of powder salvaged from bullets I was pulling (due to a mistake with seating cast...

    Less Used Powders

I've used AA#9 for years in my .357 and .44 magnums. Solid performance, repeatable performance. That is why I thought I'd try out some #5 and #7. Honestly, I've had great success with my 9mm loads using Power Pistol, BE-86, and HS-6. A fourth powder that works well will not hurt. Grumpy

    Less Used Powders

I have a fairly well stocked powder locker with 35 different powders. The ones I use a lot make up about 10 of those. Over the years I picked up some powders just to give them a try. If the results were not outstanding, I'd move along to another one. The result is several powders I just don't...

    BE-86

Love the pictures, you find them on the net or did you raid your powder locker? Grumpy

    BE-86

2400 is one powder I'll never stop using. I really like BE-86 so far, but not enough to replace 2400. It, BE-86, reportedly will heat up a weapon with prolonged range secessions. Much like Titegroup. Grumpy

    BE-86

From what I've read, it is similar to Power Pistol (a little faster on the burn rate chart) with way less flash and not quite the top end velocity. Grumpy

    BE-86

Built some .45acp loads with it today. 185gr XTPs. Plan on running them through my Wilson Combat CQB and my Ruger SR1911. Grumpy

    BE-86

I just started trying some BE-86 loadings, so far, in 9mm. I've used a lot of Power Pistol before and read several reports where BE-86 performs very similar, but with a lot less flash. I have not gotten to the range with my chrono yet, but I must say I'm pleased with several BE-86 traits. It is...

    Food for my .30-30

I'll measure to be sure, but mine is shorter than 24" for sure. I'll post it here when I get it measured. Grumpy
