Well here in central texas it goes from 100 something down to 75 at 4 am.
Plenty of humidity though not as bad as Houston-wink
Never seen any rust in my storage unit where my parts, belts and some ammo resides.
Try/rent a Glock in 9mm, mdl 17/19/26 at the range and just shoot it, box or two at least.
Then give a Sig .380 a try, then back to a 9mm
Forget about the funny calibers-.40/357Sig etc for a first gun-
You need to learn control and don't need the extra pop or ammo expense.
Give it some...
I agree with everything you said Navy but what good would having your carry gun handy in this set of circumstances? Drawing down on someone at a range seem somewhat imprudent
Man, I wish I knew how to post a pic.
MG42 at the front door, 1917 at the kitchen rear and a VIckers from the left flank
Upstairs a Shrike.
That would be the lay out if I had the man/woman power but alas its just us 2 now-
But if call the kids home look out.
Last year I was drinking Crown one night...............
Yep, first mistake...
"Decided" to go see if I could spot any skunks that had been leaving a bit of stink behind them.
Suppressed Ruger+ night vision out the door-
Was under a porch on uneven ground (=quite a slope 35 degrees)
Well duh I...
I had 3 young children once upon a time (now they are adults) kids who I taught to shoot at a very young age and would not play with Daddy's gun but its the other kids they bring home that will mess with one and sure as hell its YOUR kids that gets shot.
I locked all guns up in the vault-
Kept...
I am sure it is still great stuff. I would like to find a place to buy some here in Austin. I like to have a variety of products when one might have trouble with one applications or another. There are better lubes today but for a cleaner I think it might beat WD-40 by a good margin since its a...
The .223 for .25/rd steel case does not sound like a deal to me in light of recent ads I have seen in that same range for brass ammo- I think CTD was one place.
Shame for the employees. They had a great run at the top for a good while.
Reckon there isn't enough demand anymore with the AR pie being so chopped up between the retailers Ruger, S&W, DPMS, Remington....etc....ad naseum
That what I was going to suggest- glue/epoxy/JB weld the ribs and use it for a spare and then go get another barrel, perhaps one with chokes so its different
Bought a SBE for son in law and a Winchester SX3 2 years ago-
Both have their respective recoil absorbing stocks- the SX3 is more like an
FN FAL recoil spring setup the tail of the bolt slips into- Gun runs great.
He loves his SBE and it doesn't kick him at all till you go to the long shells-...
Its over 10 acres and seem to recall if one walks every aisle its 6 miles.
Need 2 days, it is very very crowded and slow going and rather hard to see what is on tables at times. With those using walkers, very overweight folks and wheelchairs etc. make already narrow aisles even more so it is...
I was shooting at a new public range with daughter and wife at resettable target setup with 6 round heads and below them a big piece of angle iron/steel.
Never had a ricochet-
Did see daughter fire and it appeared her shots were hitting waaay low and I realized she had missed the target 3" low...
