    Goose Gun Help

Thanks for the replies folks, the infomation is valued. I was already leaning towards the Big 10. I really like my Winchester as it dusts upland birds and rabbits real well. Don't really want another 12 but didn't want to spend the extra bucks on a 10 and ammo if it didn't help. Jim

    Goose Gun Help

Hunted goose (Canada goose) for the first time this year, and my 12 ga. Winchester 1300 Turkey with a 22"bbl was kinda lacking. Modified choke and 3" BB was the setup and hunted over decoys. My gun has factory camo so finding a longer bbl is slim, besides the wife said go ahead and get another...

Does your state have a "Primitive" muzzleloader hunting season?

Idaho allows no powder pellets, no scopes and PRB or cast bullets but no sabots and ignition system must be open/exposed. Jim

Lyman great plains rifle (54 caliber)

cpt-t The CO-2 decharger you asked about works pretty good, I keep one in my shooting bag when in the sticks or in my range box. The gas cylinder is good for one use/decharge and then is best to use a new cylinder. Be sure to point the bore in a safe direction when dechargeing as the ball exits...

    Wiping the bore between shots?

With my 50 & 54, a damp spit patch every 4-5 shots with my 32 its after every shot or 2nd shot depending on powder/sub

Will 00 buckshot penetrate through a double-sided steel resident front door?

Sure 00 buck will pass through, but depending on how far away from the door you are you may blow the door off the hinges and allow the punk(s) inside. Not to mention the muzzel flash and percussion( can you say FLASH and BANG) you will suffer. Not to mention several 30 caliber round balls...

    Bolt-Action Shotguns!?

Got a Sears 410 bolt, that I bought in 69 at the age of nine. My uncle paid me to pick cherries in his garden. I have not shot it in years but was great for small game/birds. Jim

How often do you clean your rifles?

After shooting, Wiped down with a lighyly oiled cloth after a day in the woods if not shot, and removed from the safe at least every 3 months for inspection and cleaning or atleast a wipe down. Jim

    20 ga. VS .410 for Rabbit/Squirrel

Never had a 20, but the first gun I ever bought was a 410 and I still have it. Always did the deed as needed. Jim

    What's your "never buy" gun?

For my personnal use it would be an AR of any style, I just think they are ugly and over priced. For trade or resale would be open to anything. Jim
