Denver CO: Why do so many gun stores not do private FFL transfers?

Delaware charges 25-50 dollars for doing the paper work and a phone call It's pretty profitable as they have no inventory on the shelf don't have to special order none of their money is tied up and at the higher end of charges they make as much as a sale for a rifle etc.

    First Bolt Action Rifle

You get what you pay for. As for the rifle I would opt for a Savage 10 with a box magazine or bottom release. Rifles have really come down in price so you can get a very good shooter at a decent price The 7/08 and the 270 have about the same bullet variety both are long range shooters. If you...

    The 25-06

Not that one but I have had very good accuracy and instant kills with the Speer 100 grain I have a encore 25-06 by no means what one would say is a target rifle like a bolt action but I have one that is a 1/2 inch shooter at 100yards

This could be the start of gun control......

No longer have schools as Gun Free Zones Every shooting has been in one of these zones I for one am all for training and arming certain teachers Or me as a retired Police Officer would gladly volunteer a day a week for this purpose. Signs have proven they do nothing to prevent this sort of shooting

    Encore muzzleloader. FFL?

There is one TC muzzle loader that can be shipped direct as it will not accept other barrels It's a ML'er rifle only. Now a Contender or Encore has to go through an FFL as it can support all rifle and pistol barrels

    Old Age and Hunting

I went Hunting all the time never gave it a thought that this day would come But it did and it's hard to accept when the mind is willing and the body won't cooperate I say if you have children grandchildren go with them as often as possible hunt as much as you can do all the things you like...

Did you hit a point where aquiring new guns wasn't that much of a priority anymore?

At 80 I've a number of guns bought, sold, and traded. And still have most of them I am slowly selling a lot of them as I have no one to leave them too, and my wife wouldn't have any idea how to sell them.
