The local Toys R US of guns in Charlotte.

I apologize as this isn't what you were talking about, but it does deal with a smart a-- sales person in a gun store. I say gun store, but everyone in town is actually a pawn store. I got my Dad's Glock 17 when he passed away. I had been against Glocks until I felt how light it was. I...

    concealed gun greying

I've got a Colt Commander LW .45 that I bought new in the early 1970's. I bought a Bianchi tan leather thumb snap holster for it and it has never been into another holster. I carried it for years and I fired thousands of rounds through it. The holster has many scratches (character) on it...

    Body Armor Question

I've been bashed for sharing this, but I think body armour makes sense, if for no other reason, for home defense. A bump in the night and we grab a gun and light and go investigate - in our drawers or PJs. For the cost of a gun, you could slip on body armour that might save your life...

When have you NOT regretted selling a gun?

I've never regretted selling one as I've never sold one! I do greatly regret leaving my Colt Detective Special, nickel plated in a drawer in a hotel room. I got home and it wasn't in my suitcase so I assumed it was in my car. Two weeks later I realized what happened. The hotel knew nothing...

    Next Gun You're Buying ?

This always brings a high number of replies no matter how many times it is asked - because it's fun! I just bought a Ruger SR9c. Not sure why except I saw ads and a great review and my gun store had it in stock! So, it might be awhile before I buy another. But, right now a FN .45 is at the...

Are you a rifle kinda guy, shotgun or handgun or all?

All of the above! Seven Glocks, maybe 10 1911's, revolvers, three shotguns, SKS, AR-15, AK-47, two .22 rifles, etc.

    .22 Magnum

Sorry, but I can't help to suggest a Ruger LCP, which is .380. I have one and I'm happy with it. It is very light and small and there is even a laser that fits it perfectly. I do have a NAA .22 magnum. A laser is now available for it!

SR9C so popular it's hard to get?

I just remembered something. I was told the price was $389 over the phone yesterday, I wasn't paying attention. The owner will get a call in the morning for a refund. Kinda upset now as I've bought 15 - 20 firearms there.

I forgot that you asked about the price. I got mine for $429.

SR9C so popular it's hard to get?

I bought one today! I wanted a solid black one, but they had one with a stainless steel slide. It would take one day to get a black one in, but I decided to drop by and look at the stainless. It is one handsome pistol! My only complaint is the polymer magazine extension does't come close...

SR9C so popular it's hard to get?

The trigger is better on the compact according to an article I just read.

SR9C so popular it's hard to get?

I called yesterday and they (my primary gun store) had one in stock. Same problem, it is stainless and I wanted black. They are holding it for me to look at tomorrow. The owner just told me that another customer wanted a black one. He has found one, that he will order for me instead. But he...

Safest 9mm round for home defense for autoloaders?

You might want to take a look at Magsafe. They make rounds with #2 pellets that have decent penetration and limited over penetration. Go to their web site and take look at their ballistic gelatin results.

    Alarm Systems

I went a different route. I installed a wireless alarm system that doesn't require crawling under your house, drilling holes, etc. Door and window sensors, along with motion detectors, all transmit a wireless signal to the base unit. There are no monthly charges as this system will call up...
