    Own Only One .22LR Handgun?

The ONLY one I own - Browning Buck Mark. Well over 100,000 rounds through it, amazing accuracy, and a superior trigger. All my kids learned how on this one, and they all hope I leave it to them! I guess I'll have to buy each of them one, I'm taking this one with me when I go!;)

    Experience with BERSA ?...

Own a .380 and a 45, couldn't be happier with them. The 45 goes on in the morning with my pants, and stays for the day. With a spare mag I've got 15 rounds of 230-grain Hollow points, should be plenty. I used my .380 a year ago to thwart a carjacking attempt. After that, I liked it even...

Marlin Model 60 or a Henry Lever?

I have both, shoot both, and love them both. If you need serious accuracy, I'd go with the Marlin, they make GREAT barrels. No flies on the Henry, but the accuracy on mine isn't as good. Both are a hoot to shoot. Tough call......which one to get FIRST? I say get the Marlin. Tomorrow I...

    what's wrong with that photo?

"it took TWO WHOLE REPLIES for someone to badmouth the police!" Oh, right, I forgot. The police would have no problem at all with some chick riding down the road with a freaking MACHINE GUN. Right. My bad. Papajohn

    what's wrong with that photo?

In Switzerland, nothing. Around here, you'd see the SWAT Team in hot pursuit behind her. Maybe a tank, too. Don't you know, mere civilians have no business with weapons? Only the military and police are qualified to use firearms. Just ask that DEA Agent, teaching gun safety in a school...

Tired of "Tacticool / Mall Ninja"?

I shoot with a regular group every week, we all like to shoot, we get along well, (meaning we rag on each other mercilessly) and we all own AR's. Some own SOCOM-style stuff, some have camo clothes, but we all own AR's, some of us own several. The term Mall Ninja has never come up, maybe you...

Has American Hand Gunner ever Lied to you?

I got my first subscription to a gun magazine 43 years ago, and I've seen an awful lot of BS printed as gospel, mostly to please a manufacturer or ten. I started with Guns & Ammo, later on found Shooting Times, Gun Tests, Petersen's Handguns, there was even one for a while called Handgun...

    revolver: 4" or 6"

My dos centavos says get the 4-incher, for an all-around handgun there are few, if any, better choices. The 357 is a wonderfully versatile caliber, and it shoots flat enough that zeroed for 35 yards, there is very little drop out to 75 or so. Most of my practice with a revolver is with warm 38...

Just picked this up and I'd like your input -Smith and Wesson Model 65-3 .357 Magnum

In my mind, there are few values in used handguns as good as the used S&W revolvers, specifically the M-64's and M-65's. I carry an M-64 on duty, and a M-65 3-inch off duty. I got the 65 as a LE trade-in years ago, did my best trigger job EVER on it, and shaved off the hammer spur to make the...

    Best gun never made

A Colt 1903 in 40 S&W For long guns, a semi-auto 10mm and 50AE that looks and handles like an M-1 Carbine. The Ultimate Pig Basher! PJ

    Best 45 sub compact

I'll toss my two cents in here. I did the same search a year ago, and wound up with this, a Bersa UC (Ultra-Compact) 45. It's not much bigger than my Bersa .380 but carries eight rounds of 45ACP, and it's my first de-cocker. I didn't like the idea of the de-cocker going in, but I've since...

    Any SIG P220 owners here?

I've been sniffing around for a full-size 45ACP gun to complement my Bersa UC45, and I've fallen in lust with the P220, the new 5-inch version that is Single-action only. (The Target Model.) Mas Ayoob wrote it up in the 2009 GUNS "Special Edition" annual, and he seems quite taken with it...

Those of you do not like 9mm

I grew up studying ballistics charts, worshipped at the altar of velocity, suffered from "Magnumitis" for years, and while I've owned most accepted calibers for personal defense, I've never owned a 9mm. Probably never will. Why? Simple personal preference. Anecdotal stuff. I grew up...

Revolver cylinder gap gas severs thumb, now shooter sues S&W

Lawsuits like this remind me why Shakespeare was right. Any lawyer willing to take a case like this should be dis-barred on the spot. But until we get judges with the cojones to throw this kind of idiocy out, common sense is DOOMED. This moronic plaintiff went out and bought the latest...
