This Forum used to be "The High Ground"

My aversion to universal background checks is due to the fact that they would have done nothing to prevent the two high profile mass shootings last year. So I see them as an another tool that our corrupt govt will use to prevent law abiding citizens from owning firearms, thereby increasing their...

Transporting a handgun from MI to CO

Thanks. I was reading about FOPA, but was getting hung up on the gun being legal in each state it passed through. I'll check out the websites. Best Regards --Patriot

Transporting a handgun from MI to CO

An acquaintance of mine is driving from MI to CO to go Elk hunting, and he would like to bring his revolver. So this brings up two questions. 1) what legal considerations should he be aware of? As far as I know he does not have a CHL in MI. The gun will be unloaded and in an locked case. 2) Once...

    Beretta 92/96 question

Maybe just a barrel and mag swap would work.

    Beretta 92/96 question

I kinda thought it should be a simple swap. I would think the barrel would have to be part of the assembly. Hmm

    Beretta 92/96 question

I saw a 92 slide for sale in the forum, and it got me wondering. I have a 96 that I like quite a bit and have been wanting a 92. Can I simply buy a complete 92 slide (and mags) and be good to go? Are there any legal ramifications? --Patriot

Is it my duty to buy a 1911?

I don't think Fishslayer's comment was meant to be all that serious. There are pro's and con's to any design. My opinion is that no American gun collection is complete without a 1911. Unfortunately, there are few of us that are collectors, especially when just getting started.

    Crossbreed Holsters

I bought a mini tuck for my PM9. It is a good iwb holster, and I have been extremely happy with it. At the time, CB was about the only one making this kind of holster. I would have to give the Parker holsters a good look if I were buying now

thanks thanks for the response y'all. I especially liked the web link. It seems that $35 is towards the high end but not unreasonable.

HI, I recently bought a S&W 5906 from a dealer on the internet. I have never done this before, but I have bought several guns from a lgs here in the Denver, CO area. The internet vendor had their FFL on file and suggested that I do the transfer through them. I contacted the lgs today and...

    US Revolver Co

My wife's grandfather recently passed away. It turns out that I have the only gun safe in the family, so all of his guns have been temporarily given to me while the grandmother decides what to do with them. I have made an offer to pay her a fair value for them, so that they stay in the family...

can someone point me in the direction of a resource for checking the serial for mfg date? Also, is there any reason that I could not use my other uppers on this colt lower? I have a dpms upper a stag upper and a stag lower that I use with both the stag and the dpms.

    Question Re: 1968 colt ar-15

a little more info The model is an SP1, with a Colt branded 3X20 scope. Any idea who made the colt scopes? Colt? The serial number is SP34465, which seems high to be a late 60's vintage...more like mid 70's maybe. The condition is impressive...it has not been shot much, and the owner has...
