You want to clean and polish that bore shoot 50 or so paper patched lead bullets through it. If it is real bad a little 600 grit lapping on the first 3 or bullets will save time.

MY 45-70 load is a 430gr paper patched lead at a little over 1800. Works great on small game, big game, and anything in between!

I have had a Pact for years now. Wouldnt be without one, especially for weighing cats bullets. MUCH faster. The Pack comes with calibration weights.

I prefer Devcon "Plastic Steel". Harder, stronger and more chemical resistant than Accraglass.

+1 ON THE 30-06. If you cast, (I do) you can load for anything, anywhere.

If you do get into casting, you might want to consider paper patching your cast bullets for rifle shooting. With paper you can have the same accuracy and velocity as jacketed at a fraction of the cost.
