Best value per dollar handguns in the under $300 range?

MCGunner and I have the same setup. My Taurus are solid. I owned a S&W629 for years and the trigger was crap and I couldn't get it to shoot well. I picked up a used M66 and it is awesome. I tend to shoot metal plates at the range double action. I have also had my M85 for over a decade. No...

Good, budget-priced, spring pistol (pellets) for killing small varmints?

I have the Benjamin from Cabelas (Crossman made?). Also a hand pump, 22cal. It is a big pistol with lots of power relatively speaking. Very nice gun for $129, now $149. However, I mostly use a cheap $29 Crossman rifle that is propped up my my garage. Squirrels in the woods are fine until...

Which movies made you want to get a gun?

The Man Standing - great 1911 action. And We Were Soldiers - Sam Elliot's character again with the 1911 was awesome. I got a Kimber Compact. Also Band of Brothers series was responsible for another 1911 and an M1 Carbine and a M98-K.

    current taurus revolvers

I have had my M85UL for 8yrs(?) and my M66 for 2. Both have been good guns. I have the M85UL for daily carry. The M66 is my nightstand gun and scouting gun. I think for the most part Taurus revolvers are a good bargain.

Which one for a pickup truck handgun?

Mine changes often. I shoot my 1911's the best but I usually have my Taurus 66, 7shot 357. No fumbling around - always ready to go. And I carry a Taurus M85UL in 38spcl.

    Commercial M1 Carbines

I got a CMP Inland and it is great fun. I would look into one of these vs. a new one.

    45-70 Recoil ?

I have a Ruger #1 that has only been shot with hand loads. It will thump you. I've shot thousands of 12g and many were 3" duck hunting loads. Between clays and dove I can go through 200 shells in a day. I made up a batch of 405g 45/70 over a heavy load and it was rude. Very rude - my buddy...

Would you buy a modern carbine in... .30 Carbine?

I'd take one in a heartbeat! I just got back from the club after sending a 100 rounds out of my Inland M1. On the way home I was wondering why there weren't more guns offered for this cartridge. With soft points, these 110g pills would be an awesome close range gun. Your talking roughly...

    Ruger SP101 info needed

I have a M85UL and it is my primary small gun. If I were to add a SP101 if would be a 3" barreled gun that I would carry on the trail. I voted for a RAMI, as I think thinner is better for a CCW and I find I shoot semi's better when shooting quickly.

    Help with H&R 922

I have my grandfather's H&R 922. A neat gun and though I know it isn't worth much, it is invaluable to me. I need some advise on the operation. I have to remove the cylinder to unload. When removing the cylinder should I pull the hammer back to the first catch (is this half cocked?). Also...

Looking for Mag for a Colt Vest Pocket 25ACP

I have Colt M1908, aka the Colt Vest Pocket. It was purchased new by my Grandfather. My father left it to me when he passed. It is a neat little fire arm. I am looking for a couple mags to save the original. I see the Mec-Gar makes mags for the Baby Browning, will they work in the Colt...

    Ammo can storage.

I built a sturdy shelf, roughly h4xw4xd2, it is way too small. PAShooter's setup is awesome. I am going to get some stencils and yellow paint for my ammo cans.

    AR Questions

Thinking about an AR, nothing special, one of the bargain bin CMMG's. Coworker bought one and I am impressed. Question I have a choice between chrome lined 1/7 rifling and un-chromed lined 1/9. The chrome 1/7 is $50 more. Which would you choose? Thanks, tjg

What revolver for SHTF, post-apocalypse? (my first revolver)

    I have a 4" Taurus Model 66, a 7shot 357. It is paired with a snubby and soon a Marlin 1894C. Primary load will be 38spcl.

Semi Auto Rifle with Cheap Ammo

I had a Romanian SAR1. It was fine. Then I bought a Yugo SKS. It was better. I kept the Yugo as I find it more fun to shoot. I don't go to public ranges and unload as fast as I can. I also liked the milled steel and just overall fit and finish. Shot it this weekend along with my latest...
