    Springfield Armory SA-35

Actually I already have a couple Brownings. Also a few SA's which I also like a lot. I think their rendition of the HP would be an interesting addition. Looks like they did a good job with all forged parts, tighter tolerances and the elimination of the magazine disconnect. My brownings work...

    Springfield Armory SA-35

I'm super excited about the Springfield Armory SA-35. It has a MSRP of $679.00 or there about. I see they are actually being bid on Gunbroker for up to $2500.00 as of this writing. What the heck? Is this just people who have to be the first one on the block with one or should I expect this...

    Shiloh Products?

No typos. Forgett stated that the charge was fully burned in the 26" barrel and attributed this to the weight of the projectile. He originally worked up a load with 200 grains of powder but backed off until the entire charge was consumed in the barrel. This is how he landed on the 180 grain...

    Shiloh Products?

I was unaware of that history. I looked at Shiloh Rifle Co but did not see any molds either. Saw the one on EBay some time after it was sold. It didn't specify the weight of the projectile but may have been the one. Will never know.

    Shiloh Products?

I have always been a big fan of Val Forgett and Navy Arms. In the 1975 Lyman Black Powder Handbook, there is an article written by Forgett describing his muzzle loader African safari. One of the rifles he used was a 58 cal Hawken Hunter. The projectile he used was a 610 grain thick skirted...

Winchester Model 94.. Is this a good deal?

I believe that the ranger only has a 16" barrel. If you are looking for a hunting rifle I would prefer the standard length carbine. And if you truly are willing to spend a couple hundred over that 350 mark, I would think that you could find a pre-64 somewhere. I would personally go that route...

    Gun stickers on cars

I don't think that we should promote the current culture that can't laugh at anything. People make jokes about what they know.

    A new deer rifle?

    Keep the .32 Special.

    Accuracy of Marlin 1894

Had one built in the early 80's Regardless of what type of ammo I was using, I couldn't keep all the rounds on a paper plate at 100 yards. Sold it.

    30-30 savage 99s

I have one dated 1929. I have no opinion on any particular date being the best. Since the 99 was capable of chambering much more powerful rounds with spritzer projectiles, I don't think the 30-30 was one of the more popular chamberings. However, if you are a handloader, this platform will...

If guns are the real problem....

They are not going to "ponder" anything. You assume the beliefs they represent to you are genuine, rather than just rationalized responses to advance an agenda.

    1911 build

This is all very useful, thanks. The slide is definitely for a 38. Would a 9mm frame work well?
