Colorado CCW permits last for 5 years before they expire. If Maine is the same way (lasts 5 years) it’s worth getting it now. That way you can choose to carry sooner than later in your 1 year wait should you change your mind.

Generally speaking (I my opinion from my past readings on various ammo articles on the internet and opined ammo reports):
115gr= light, fast, reliable expansion and good energy transfer to your human target.
124gr= Heavier and fast, better...
levitating on you nightstand
Well if you see that handgun levitating by itself off of your night stand then you know it was a mistake to get it......... :rolleyes:
Glock magazines are marked with the LE/Military only and date stamped 1994. So if a new ban comes ups, and you mags are marked like the Glock mags tou should be okay. I think thats the "grandfather clause"...but not certain.

Ever think that if your shot and incapacitated that your significant other may have to pick it up your firearm to defend their lives (assuming they were not carrying one of their own). They my not know how to, or that they have to charge it...

I literally fell out of the chair laughing when I read your line where you set it on top of the car just "in case of the boogy man".....:) AND my gun fell out of my holster when I got up.........just kidding.
