    Eye relief with scopes

It's a 1.93" tall mount. All of my mounts are 1.93" now. Just finished installing a Warne a few days ago, about 1/2 an hour to do. A bit lighter with it not being QD, but it's quick enough to move around, finger tight and 90 degrees comes out to 60 in lbs, 65 is max.

    Eye relief with scopes

I use that mount on my .308 with a 1.93" center line. Not the lightest mount in the world but the scope isn't lightweight either, 3 pounds scope and mount. All of my scopes are centered in the mount and the eye piece is over the charging handle, plenty of room to move it front or back if needed...

    Eye relief with scopes

One piece scope mounts on an AR are probably the easiest to set up. I've used business cards between the mount and the bottom of the scope to get it level. I picked up a scope level kit a while ago though and it works well. Gone up a bit since I got one...

    AR-15 Gas key screws sheared

Does the lower look like it has been getting smacked with the gas key? Happening twice is not normal. With it separated take the carrier, put it in the tube and compress it firmly. The gap between the lower and gas key should be around two Quarters wide. If not put one of the Quarters at the...

I don't want a Sig P365. Tell me why I'm wrong or offer options.

I've been eyeing the Wilson Combat Xmacro short grip module. No need to cut one down for a regular 365 slide. They have 17 round mags as well, one stop shopping. Slim full size grip and a 3" barrel.

I don't want a Sig P365. Tell me why I'm wrong or offer options.

Xl grip was $25 with the mag release, sleeve was $12. Still have the 365 grip mod and a couple of 10 round mags for it. Xl slide and red dot were sold for what I paid for them. Installed a Gray Guns trigger and sold the curved trigger, so about $15 for that. Not much spent and nothing...

I don't want a Sig P365. Tell me why I'm wrong or offer options.

I didn't like the 365 with the 10 round mags when it came out, not enough grip for me to hang onto and hit the same place twice in a row. Then they had the Tacpac which had 3 of the XL 12 round mags with spacers, that was better so I bought it. Shooting it was no problem, kept pinching my palm...

    Build a AR?

The tension set screw is under the grip, has a delron tip that makes contact with the upper. Supposed to loctite it in but my stuff gets swapped around so I just used another set screw to lock it down, which takes a little fiddling around to get right.

    Build a AR?

Looks like it'll scratch the itch, for a little bit. All that's left of my first one is the Anderson lower, take down pins and the trigger guard. Went with a PSA 14.7" FN barreled upper and other bits. Third barrel, second upper. Stocked up on 20 and 30 round mags with the PSA daily deal...

    Which Tripod

I keep meaning to convert mine over, haven't used it since I got another tripod with a ball head. Looks like a few options now, there was only one the last I looked. Making the adapter is another option. Pretty sure I have everything at work to make one. Cheap enough to get the materials...

    Build a AR?

I've put a few Anderson lowers together but the Aero's are worth the few dollars more. The set screw for taking out the slop is nice, floppy uppers may not effect function or accuracy but still bug me to no end. It's tapped for a 4-40 set screw for the take down pin detent spring also. Not...

    Build a AR?

I have punches in all kinds of flavors, $15 and I have some more. https://www.wheelertools.com/ar-tools/ar-bolt-catch-install-punch-kit/710906.html Came in handy when I decided to replace the bolt catch in everything.

    Build a AR?

I used what I had laying around to put the $300 PSA kit together. Wound up with quite a bit more over the years. Having specific tools makes things go so much smoother.

    Build a AR?

The first one I put together was a PSA $300 kit, just add stripped lower, which was an Anderson I picked up from the LGS for less than $50 It worked. It's been taken apart and reconfigured more than a few times.

    Build a AR?

Building is not cheaper, at least for me. My "cheapest" one was $1,300 Complete uppers don't need an FFL, just the lower. Palmetto State Armory is the best bang for the buck IMO. Primary Arms is another place I spend money at.
