    And are they surprised?

Armoredman, I'm Jewish and think your poster conceptualized perfectly on the mindset of people (like myself) who were insulted my Senator Obama's comment. Once again we are running in to the issue of opinions. Just like nostrils, everyone has a couple (cleaned up for Art's grandmaw)...

What other american milsurp can I get

Scythefwd, If you go to the CMP website you can find fully functional M1 Carbines from $419 to $675. They also occasionally have M1 Springfields, M1917 Enfields, and rarely a Krag-Jorgenson or two. Lots of different choice if you extend your collecting to shotguns (Winchester Models 97...

    History question (for possible publication)

I have to disagree. While there were many junk pistols (referred to as "Suicide Specials" in the press of the time). The break top DA pistols made by the big manufacturers (Smith & Wesson, Harrington & Richardson, Iver Johnson, and a few others) were considered quality pocket and vest pocket...

    1911: Mag Preference

Nksmfamjp, If by "CMC Standard" you mean his Shooting Star 8-rounders, that's what I carry. Although, I am starting to lean more towards his Power Mags. Sincerely, Prof. A. Wickwire

    A Heinlein quote

Oleg, Actually, in the spirit of the book, she should have a 1911. After all, that's what Hamilton Felix carried. As usual, nice work. Sincerely, Prof. A. Wickwire

    My Frankford Arsenal tumbler died

Afy wrote: The switch should be on the power cord. To find the shaft you will need to turn the tumbler upside down and remove the base plate. Inside the base you should see the electric motor with it's weighted shaft. Needless to say, this should only be done with the unit unplugged...

    My Frankford Arsenal tumbler died

Strat81, The same thing happened to me. My case cleaner was humming and then nothing. After unplugging, I lubricated the shaft running through the electric motor (I used Kroil). The shaft has a weighted blade on it to cause the vibrations. Apparently the factory lubricant had finally worn...

I bet this didn't end well....

"Hey Joe, how's that bullet proof vest fit? Looks good, buddy. Just one more thing, I want you to hang on to this piece of bullet proof glass so we can test it." "Well, OK...but hold my sign, I wouldn't want anything to happen to it." Apologies to Bill Engval. Sincerely, Prof. A...

    Heinlein a gun guy?

If you read "Grumbles From the Grave", the collection of his correspondence with various publishers. There is a group of letters regarding his annoyance and even anger with a publisher who wanted him to change aspects of "Red Planet" in regards to gun ownership. The editor was against it and...

    NY state gun laws

Ohen Cepel, Go to Handgunlaw and build a map of states that recognize your permit. For example my New York State permit is recognized by AK, AZ, ID, IN, KY, MD, MI, MT, OK, SD, TN, TX, UT, VT. If you get some of the non-resident permits (i.e. Pennsylvania, Utah) you can open up much...

    NY state gun laws

West Point is in Orange County, not Putnam. From my understanding, as long as you do not live in Newburgh the same basic guidelines apply as in the rest of the state. I do not know how gun-owner friendly the Judge/County Clerk/County Sheriff are in Orange County. However, the County...

Fight Breast Cancer... with an AR15. Charity Raffle, pink camo Duracoat Stag 15

I won't win, but I bought 4 tickets anyway. My mom is a breast cancer survivor and virulently anti-gun. Kind of ironic. Great idea and thanks to all involved. Sincerely, Prof. A. Wickwire
