OP, does that range have steel? My range has an 8"-10"-12" gongs at the 300 yd mark, and a full size whitetail silhouette. It's great off-hand practice. There are few things that give me greater satisfaction than hearing the ping at 300 yds.

There isn't. Some take it as a challenge.

I have seen metal filings in a few NIB guns. One shouldn't run a round through the barrel with such detritus. Very bad ju-ju. Clean it first.

I put my brushes and such in a "pocket" tackle box. The ones that have 5 or 6 trays on each side. They cost about $5. You have to engrave the caliber size as the cleaning solvent dissolves the magic marker.
