Pre-war Smith 38/44 Heavy Duty 5" Buy or no?

I don't post too often around here. I'm usually over at the S&W forum, but I want to say that I think you did great.

    Winchester Sells 38 S&W Ammo...

No, .38 S&W and .38 S&W Special are two different rounds and are not interchangeable.

    1903 Colt Pocket Pistol

I would say at least $500 for the blued one. A less than perfect nickel finish is another story. Ten percent wear on a blued gun is nothing. Ten percent on a nickel plated gun can be a big deal.

    Seattle Area Gun Dealers

I'm also a few miles north of the U. in Wedgewood. Butch's Gun's on Aurora charges $35.00. Not really cheap but, it is closer to home.

    1907 Savage magazine question

I brought home a 1907 Savage pistol last week. It's very difficult to load the tenth round and with the tenth round in place inserting the magazine is equally difficult. I can see that there is rust on the magazine spring, but I don't know if can be dissassembled for cleaning. Any guidance would...

    Stainless Steel Uberti

Scrat, thanks for the advice. JCT, This is a used gun sitting in a local shop so I can't post a link. I could swear this thing is stainless but of course I could be wrong. If it turns out to be nickel do you think it would be a mistake to buy it? Can Uberti plating be trusted?

    Starr revolvers in the Philippines

If memory serves, I read somewhere, years ago that Starr revolvers saw very little if any use during the civil war. Again, if I remember correctly the government bought a substantial number but never issued them. They were held in storage for about fifty years then sold as surplus. While I think...

    Stainless Steel Uberti

Hello All, I'm considering the purchase of a stainless steel Cimarron Model P. This particular gun has charcoal blued screws. When the finish on the screws deteriorates I would like to be able to polish them and have a nice looking all stainless gun. Do you guys know if the charcoal...

    Price of Tru Ivory grips?

Old Dog, I haven't called them yet. In fact I don't even have an SAA. I'm really just tinkering with the wish list. I sold a Cimarron model P years ago and having no other single actions I would like to replace it. Bullseye in Tacoma has several nickel plated Ubertis that really...

    S&W 51 price input

I bought one in excellent condition a year ago this month. I paid $275.00 to a shop that seems to like to keep things moving. When I asked about the Model 51 on this forum, it was suggested that the gun could be worth as much as $500.00

    Price of Tru Ivory grips?

Thanks guys, When I saw that the website didn't have a price list I got concerned. $100.00 - $150.00 with free fitting isn't too bad.
