    Dry firing a Glock

Yes, you can dry fire a Glock, as you can dry fire just about all pistols. Some words of caution.... Use some form of snap cap. I know Glock originally said that snap caps were not required on their pistols. Having destroyed a Gen2 G19 slide from excessive dry firing w/out snap caps, I...

    Most Reliable Auto Pistol

SIG, Beretta (92 series), HK, & Glock would be my choices. I have a couple of M&P's, just not enough rounds on them to say, yes, I consider these pistols reliable. From all indications so far though, they seem good to go. I've had an XD9 Tactical and XD45 Tactical. I sold both, but not due...

Who chooses an XD over others because of the grip safety

I've owned and sold both an XD45 Tacitical and XD9 Tactical. I liked having the grip safety, however, I have many other pistols that don't have the grip safety. It wouldn't be a deal breaker for me either way. I know many find the idea of a grip safety anathema, but I don't think it's a bad...

    Ngd m&p 45

Congratulations!!!! I just picked up a used one, minus thumb safety and night sights, myself 2 days ago. I also have an M&P40 to compare to. I like the fit of the .45 frame better for my hands. I wear a size L-XL in gloves. The pistol holds very still during the trigger pull when dry...

    Accurizing a GLOCK

Curious as to what level of accuracy you're looking for? I'm able to obtain 2.5"-3.0" 5 rnd groups at 25 yards on a good day on a G19, G17. I know Todd Green at pistol-training.com was able to produce sub 2" groups on a Gen4 G17. I find myself as being the limitation on accuracy on a Glock.

    G19 or M&P 9

I own a Gen2 G19, Gen3 G19, Gen4 G23 and M&P40 w/ factory 9mm barrel. I like the feel of the M&P, but I shoot the Glocks better. I do my dry fire drills w/the M&P and I do well w/ it. Then I switch to one of the Glocks and the sights DO NOT move at all. You really have to SHOOT THEM...

I HATE the new Gen 4 Glock.

I bought a Gen4 G23 in Dec. I really like the pistol. I love the new grip dimensions (I don't run a backstrap) and the new texture. I also own a Gen2/3 G19 and a Gen2 G17. My buddy has a Gen2 G23 and my cousin has a Gen3 G23. The Gen4 handles the recoil better than the previous Gen's...

Which pistol/rifle combo would you carry into war?

Just turned 41 and 've never been in war. I have to believe though, having lots of bullets that are good to medium range are better than less bullets that go further and weigh more. Of stuff that I currently own.... Lighter stuff... Bushmaster 16" A3 carbine or S&W M&P15T Glock 19 or...

Poll for current and previous GLOCK owners only: Would you buy another GLOCK?

Yes I would, but not all models. I've had a G22 and didn't like it. However, the Gen 4 G22's are supposed to address any drawbacks that I saw in the G22. Regardless, I'm not big on the .40 models. I would buy any 9mm or .45 though. The 10mm sounds interesting as well. I currently have 2...

Holy Cow!!! New Springfield XD40 Subcompact

Wow, nice shooting. I'm glad you found a platform that works for you. For me, the Glocks work pretty well. I have a G17 and 2 G19's that I like a lot. I recently had an opportunity to shoot a G26, and like you w/ your XD's, I was amazed at how well the smaller variants can shoot. How is...

    Stress fractures in Glock slide

My apologies for not getting back on this. Yes, Glock did right by me. I had to send them the pistol, and pay for shipping out there $50, but Glock did send the gun back to me w/ a new slide. They moved the night sights over from the old slide to the new slide. I now do use Snap Caps as I...

How is the SIG P229 in 9mm?

My buddy and I both have W. German P226's and he also has the P229 in .40 and a P228. My cousin has the P229 in 9mm w/ Hogue grip. Let me start by saying that I do think the P226 is arguably the best fullsize DA/SA combat 9mm out there. Ok, having said that... As mentioned, I've only shot...

    Stress fractures in Glock slide

Greetings, I s/w Glock cust serv today. They are going to fix, rather give, me a new slide. The person I s/w seemed to know of this problem and right off the bat, mentioned that this gun probably had a lot of dry fires. I mentioned that the manual says it's ok to dry fire and he acknowledged...

    Stress fractures in Glock slide

Does anyone know if this is only in certain generation guns, serial #'s, year of manufacturer? I'm not positive, but it seems that every Glock mentioned here, is either a 1st or 2nd gen gun. Are there examples of this problem in 3rd+ gen guns? I've never heard of this happening on other...

    Stress fractures in Glock slide

Count me among the victims. I have a 2nd gen G19 serial # series BZK---. I noticed when dry firing a couple of weeks ago, the last trigger pull felt different. Tried racking the slide and the slide would only go back about 1/4". Was able to field strip the gun but the barrel wouldn't come...
