@mgmorden,
I drop powder at #2 and use a home-made powder check dowel with the Lee expander to both expand and check for proper powder drop at station 3. I've had no issues expanding after powder drop.

My experience with S&B carbine ammo is that it's a bit hotter than the loads that I have worked up. I've also experienced case mouth "dings" with 45ACP ammo that was loaded hotter. That's almost surely the issue.
I bought 1000 rounds of S&B when it was $8.50 per box. Wish I had bought a lot...
Very interesting observations. First, I agree that a dedicated shellplate, like the one Hornady produced for 45ACP, would solve this problem. The nature of the rimmed cartride for 38/357 and the way the case retainer spring rides over the rim just makes it very intolerant of any vertical play...
Lucas, darned if I wasn't going to suggest just what you found works! I had almost exactly the same problem when loading 38 Special on my LnL. I've purchase a few extra springs and keep one that is stretched sufficiently to work perfectly with 38 Special. I use a standard unstretched spring...
I called Hornady tech support today and asked about the problems that I had. They agreed that smoothing and even slightly chamfering the edge of the primer hole on the primer sled would be beneficial. Doing so will allow the primer ABOVE the one that is in the sled to ride more easily across...
Thought I would add my experiences to this thread...
I loaded 500 rounds of 45ACP this morning without so much as a hiccup. No flipped primers, no missing primers. I stopped for lunch and decided to switch primer brands in the afternoon. I've since had terrible difficulty with the sled...
Wow, no one has an idea?
I think that I've found a workaround. By raising the bowl about 1/2 inch on its support, I can effectively lengthen the case feed tube. Before, the case mouth was activating the cutoff switch, but occasionally it wouldn't, because the case mouth is so small in...
I ran into an issue yesterday while loading 223 on my LnL. The case feeder is doing a real nice job of dropping cases properly into the feed tube, but when the tube gets full it sometimes doesn't shut off the feeder and a real logjam ensues. It appears that the 223 case's small diameter allows...
Here's my implementation of a set screw. I originally did this because the powder measure kept coming loose, but have since found other ways to deal with the problem. It seems no more involved than the precision grinding, and it allows you to lock some bushings in place and allows others to...

I had the same experience, only with 38 Special. I found a workaround by stretching out the case retaining spring. This reduces the upward pressure that causes the case to tip inward, but...
Grafs often sends packages with indirect signature required. You can sign the door tag and leave it for the driver and he will deliver the next time. Or, as I posted earlier, put a signed release letter mentioning the package by tracking number and he should leave it for you.
I feel your pain. I have had no end of problems signing for items shipped FedEx. One thing that has worked for me is to prepare a note for FedEx which includes the tracking number and a signed statement releasing the shipment. It won't work if a direct signature is required, but for indirect...
WV Vizsla, I think you are on to something there! I do in fact have extra retainer springs, so I carefully stretched the one that I've been using--it went back on the press noticeably looser, but still holds the cases in place. When cycling empty brass, my cases still tip, but with a bullet in...
I have the EZ-Ject. This is not an eject problem, the cases eject just fine. The problem is the case retainer spring slipping underneath the case rim and tipping the case. Here is a picture of the problem:
