Help me pick out a 12g for HD, please...

Allow me to dispense some free advice, which is worth every penny you'll pay for it. Pawn Shops. Look around in a large pawn shop, you'll usually find a nice variety of used, name brand guns. Look at the 870, the 500, don't overlook a Winchester 1300, look seriously at any Ithaca 37 you find...

Who uses a Pistol Grip ONLY?

Do we have to do this again, friends? Our esteemed moderator Mr. McCracken put this in the notes at the top, and in his 101 series. Also, it is a shotgun, not a purse. Who really cares how cool a Pistol Grip (Only) looks. If you don't bust doors, or ride in a cruiser for a paycheck, you probably...

    mossberg sights

There are as many options as your mind can conceive. There are XL beads, ivory beads, glow beads, the old Ithaca Raybar, or glow worm style, regular rifle sights, nothing(some folks actually prefer this, for what it's worth). Get a Brownells or Midway catalog, and see the plethora of what is...

Need help with Ithaca model 51

ithacagun.com has the old IPB (illustrated parts breakdown). Sounds like there is at least two problems. Will the action move if you pull the charging handle? (After ensuring the gun is unloaded and pointed in a safe direction.)

    New Haven 600AT

Close. New Havens are Mossbergs, made at the same plant in North Haven (next town over) CT. Mostly sold by Monty Ward, if my research is right.

    New Ithaca Buy

One of the barrels may not be stock, but it's also most likely a Hastings. I am curious, what is the S/N on her?

Finally got my "Big Three" riot guns!

You ought to show us all of them. Do you still have your 37, and that old Stevens?

    Top three Home Defensive loads

Federal 00 Buck, Remington 00 buck, more Federal 00, perhaps a stray box of Winchester 00, more Federal 00, get the idea?

Who makes the best pump shotgun?

I've only handled one Browning, equipped with a 32" barrel. Holy smokes, it felt like I was swinging a 4x4 fence rail, and it weighed a half ton. The fit and finish were excellent, and the controls were good, but I'd much rather have my 37, or my 500.

Who makes the best pump shotgun?

All things considered, you'll be hard pressed to surpass the Ithaca Model 37, and the Winchester Model 12. Otherwise, you'll be well off with either a 500, or an 870.

Which recoil pad will fit the Hogue overmolded 12" LOP stock for Mossberg 590?

So, what ever became of that speedfeed stock you replaced? If you still have it, would you part with it? I need all the LOP I can get.

    need help with shotgun buying

Head on over to your local pawn shops. Look for a good deal. You ought to be able to pick up a used but serviceable Remington 870, Mossberg 500, or Ithaca 37 for under 200 bucks. Any of these ought to serve you well.
