I have a couple transferable sub guns that need to be sold. I really am having a hard time establish ing a value for the rifles if anyone has some knowledge for a market price it would really help me out. Be more than happy to shoot the breeze and see what other collectors think.
I have been given a custom Mauser action long gun with no markings at all except on the barrel. It read "300 W mag".... Thats it no manufacture or any other stamps on.
I cant tell if it a weatherby or Winchester.. Can a 300 winchester fit and shoot in a 300 weatherby? Is their any quick...
You will be hunting out of a blind and or driving around. I have been hunting Leakey for a long time and its not much different than regular Deer hunting. 280 should be good to go. Practice shots out to 300 and bring a range finder. I don't think you will be walking around much if all.
I think Jason_W has a good point. Terrain and environment are wide spread in our country.
It should come down to the ability and gear we use to take game.
Personally i don't use a .223 because doesn't have the punch for distance hunting. My carbine is a 7.62X39 and it works very well...
I would never take a bad shot with a pistol. The ranch is set up for hunting with 12 tower stands and bow tree stands hunting over feeders. Shooting a deer on the run our at distance isn't what we are after. We look for older deer or deer that wouldn't contribute to the herd.
Going back out...
I have had a micro on my ak for 4 years. You can leave it on for around 6 months before the battery runs down. Never had to re sight the ak and it has taken many beatings on the 4 wheeler. Quality product.
Vortex or Nikon
I purchased a Nikon Monarch with the BDC when they first came out. I have had such great experience with the BDC all my rifles have been switched over to this system. Its fast and very accurate with all my rifles. I practice out to 500 yards and have shot deer quite often...
I have experience with hunting and the 300 blackout. Most subsonic ammo that you can purchase over the counter is fmj. The lack of power along with a fmj bullet is a very close range cartridge. We have shot many pigs with the blackout and the subsonic round doesn't have the expansion needed to...
I have witnessed a new hunter wound a animal with a 308 win with 3 shots and the first shot was a neck shot then a jaw hit. He didn't listen to my instruction not to walk up until he waited 30 minutes. Within 5 mins of his first shot it he walked up and shot it on the run with a 44 mag four...
The Shoulder was hit and broke. So if you look close the HST hit the shoulder and two ribs at a angle. This weekend i shot a rather large boar with the same pistol had a clean pass threw and it ran about 75 yards.
I have bow hunted for 30 years spending 30-50 days a year in the stand. Its my...
Glock 34, 38 yards front quartering shot. 124gr Federal hydra shok. One big kick and she was down for good in 12 yards.
I have read so many 9mm threads about what is humane for a hunting round. So i picked out the largest doe for real life ballistic test.
Posting a link because their is...
The PH's at the king ranch used 120gr Spiltzers. I have witnessed a 25-06 revolution in Texas. Over the years more of the professional guides and ranchers are using the round because of the performance and cost.
