    50 Beowolf

It doesn't. Apples and oranges my friend. The Grendel is a scalpel the Beowulf is a sledge hammer. The Grendel is a sports car, the Beowulf is a Mack truck. While the Beowulf can be, and often is very accurate, it's efective range is limited- think of it as basically as a 45-70 lever gun...

Help me pick a state to move to

Hi all. So The wife and I are looking to buy land to build a summer/weekend house on to retire to on in the next 5 years or so, and we are interested in moving to a more rural area. I want to move to a state that has the most freedom. To me this means he best gun laws amongst other things...

ATTN NJ AR15 shooters- Fifteen round mags

Hey NJ AR15 shooters- Riflegear.com has fifteen (15) round Magpul magazines in stock. They modify the Magpul 20 rounders in house to permanently limit them to 15 rounds to make them NJ legal. I just bought a few but haven't tested them yet. I hope to get to the range this weekend, so if I do...

Cartridges with the same/similar OAL as the .280 British?

thanks RC- That's basically what I am trying to do... I was looking for a modern cartridge to fit in an auto loading rifle that was longer than the .223/ 5.56 family but shorter than the .308 family. it just happened that the .280 British seemed like it was about the size that I was...

Cartridges with the same/similar OAL as the .280 British?

Cartridges with the same/similar OAL as 280 British for AR12.5? Hi everyone. I was wondering what cartridges have the same (or basically similar) OAL as the 280 British. I am particularly interested in cartridges with an OAL between 2.45 and 2.60 that have an "auto-rim". I am thinking up a...

    Sig 229 vs HK USP9c

Hi All, I'm getting my year-end bonus this friday (Finaly). I am looking at a mid size 9mm. The two that I am seriously considering are the Sig 229 and the HK USP9c. I have a USP45 that I love, so I am familiar with its manual of arms, and shoot it well. The 229 is a phenomenal pistol that...

    Who makes a 7.62x39 based on a AR-15 Frame?

don't do it FALSE!!! The 6.5 Grendel runs higher pressure and has no problems. A properly treated bolt will outlast your barrel. Forget the bolt, the real problem is with the cartridge taper. AR mags are not curved enough to reliably feed 7.62 cases.

    h&k Mark 23 - .45 ACP

Can't comment on the MK23 But my go to handgun for almost 8 years has been the USP45F. I do think that the USP "recoil reduction system" does work, but how much, I could not honestly say. The USP series of pistols are very soft shooting, IMHO. THis could also be because they are are pretty...

    Sig or HK?

My take I am interested in how they compare in the areas of trigger pull, accuracy, duriability-reliability and general shootability. I have the HK USP 45F and it has been flawless in 4000 rounds. I had a 226 in 9mm and it to was flawless. I choose the HK because I wanted a 45 with more than...

    into the wild

Hi All- All right, I am coming in here late, but here is my take on it- Disclaimer: I hated this movie and am not condemning nor condoning Chris or what this kid did. First, what everyone here seems to forget is that he did not die because he chose to stay or because he couldn't read a...

Best bullet weight for a 6" .357 magnum

prob 158's 158's are great for all around use. But best will depend on your gun. My Python prefers 180's, but they do have a faster twist bbl.
