Kimber Ultra RCP II - Dead or Alive?

Since several of you have mentioned that a pic would be helpful, I've uploaded the Ultra RCP II. The obvious differences with what JTQ posted are the lack of Crimson Trace sights and the hammer is different. JTQ's pic shows a skeletonized hammer where mine (shown at half cock) is bobbed. Both...

Kimber Ultra RCP II - Dead or Alive?

I recently acquired a Kimber Ultra RCP II from my brother-in-law. I've done some research and found the pistol was relatively short lived in the Kimber product line. Anyone know why? I've gone to Gunbroker to look for any current auctions and found none. I checked this forum and found the last...

Kimber 1911 7 Round Mags Question

I appreciate all the quick responses. Several asked about interchangeability, the Ultra RCP mag will fit flush on the Pro CDP but will not lock the slide when I rack it. The Pro CDP mag extends about a half inch below the grip base when inserted. So it sounds like the Ultra or Officers size mag...

Kimber 1911 7 Round Mags Question

First off I have relatively little experience with 1911 semi-auto pistols. I recently inherited a Kimber Pro CDP II and an Ultra RCP II. The Kimber website states that both pistols take a 7 round magazine. However, the Ultra RCP’s mag is about a half inch shorter than the Pro CDP's mag. But I...

Need Recommendation for a .22 auto pistol

Wow! If I count the multiple models under the same brand, there are about 40 recommendations! I appreciate your feedback and now I must start sorting out from this number what I want to look into further. A lot will depend on what I can get my hands on at the next gun show. Also I realized that...

Need Recommendation for a .22 auto pistol

After years of .45, 9mm, .380, .357 and 7.63s I am ready for a .22 autoloader. I have not followed .22 autos over the years so I need your help from your experiences. I do not want a .22 autoloader for carry, home defense or hunting. What I want to do is punch paper at the range. My wants...a...

    Pistols That Constantly Jam

I have a CZ82 in 9mm Mak.Shoots and functions well. Problem: It will jam every single magazine when I use Wolf steel cases. Solution? Stopped using Wolf steel cases! Every type of brass cased ammo runs without a hitch.

So what are the cheapest handgun deals out there now?

Shoot Straight Gunshops in the Tampa Bay area has a new Walther P99c going for $339 which seems like an awesome deal to me. Supposedly a special anniversary sale so presumably only for a limited time.

    An unfired Broomhandle Mauser.

I did some checking in my "System Mauser" book and your s/n falls in the category noted as "Standard Prewar Commercial" as in WWI. So based on that I would speculate that your Broom was probably produced in the 1905-1915 date range. Broomhandle serial numbering tended to bounce around a bit...

    An unfired Broomhandle Mauser.

That's an awesome Broomhandle! That kind of condition for its age is truly remarkable. I have a few broomhandles myself (1930, pre-war commercial, VL&D retailer marked in both small ring and large ring and Siamese contract). Would you mind sharing the s/n range of the pistol and also some...

    Any CZ 82 Fans here?

I got one of those from AIM a few years ago. For what it is I like it a lot. It's fun to shoot and I can hit something with it. For me the steel frame feels comfortable and just right for putting it on target. My only complaint is that it does not like Wolf ammo.

What's the most accurate handgun you've fired?

Taurus, Model 627 Tracker (Total Titanium), 4" barrel, .357 with "Ribber" grips. I can do tight groups at 7 yds. and look like a pro with it but with autos I'm a fair to average shot at best. It's the light weight and grip-abilty that seems to make a difference for me.

    eBay Selling Pistol/Rifle Mags!!

I was in the process of getting ready to list some of my excess pistol mags on GunBroker when, quite by accident, I discovered that eBay now allows them! :what: After my wife applied smelling salts and picked me up off the floor I checked into eBay's policy page and yep, sure enough, any firearm...

What .22 auto to get for the range?

I want to buy a .22 auto for my daughter and wife to use at the range. I'm afraid if I let them try my .357 it will be their first and last time to go. :( I've heard good things about Walther's P22, Any pros or cons to the P22? Any others I should look at?
