thanks folks, thanks grumpy! I need to find a modern hornady manual. Cant seem to find them around here. You have me worried posting the 155gr A-max....Thatll suck if I get the manual and they dont have data for the hornady brand 150 gr fmjbt of which I have 500. As a newb I like to follow...

Does this m14 load sound alright to you guys?

About to cook up my first batch ever for the m14. (norinco 18.5") I hear the 4895's are good but I have a 4 lb of IMR-4064 and I want to finish that before I buy more. Hodgdon's 4th edition has a load that Im thinking about- Ill start off loading 100 rounds of this and when my rifle...

My scope is 1" and rings are 30mm, options?

Im taking the rear sight off for clearance and putting a pair of EGW aluminum rings on. Seems wrong to remove the sights from a battle rifle.

    Shotguns- 14" vs 18"

What are the merits of each? I am currently rocking a 14" fabarm as it is the perfect wilderness defense weapon in my mind for yogi( with the right slugs-brenneke) Quick to point, quicker follow up shots, light and easy to carry. What am I giving up with this 14" barrel is the question...

light 1" rings for picatinny rail

So Im trying to mount a 1" scope on a picatinny rail. The minimum distance between the rail and the bottom of the scope is o.305". Can anyone suggest a lightweight ring that can handle a bit of recoil from an m14 Jordon

My scope is 1" and rings are 30mm, options?

thanks boys. I resist the milpitary scope thing- mainly for weight. Its an m14 with an 18" barrel so I dont expect it to reach out to 1,000 though I do plan on accurizing it over time/reloading so I do expect it to be capable of reaching out. So talley lightweights are the best option then...

My scope is 1" and rings are 30mm, options?

The rings I want to use with this scope are the nightforce ultralite. Mainly because they're light, second theyre supposed to be strong. I hear there are reducers available to fit a 1" scope in 30mm rings- are these a good option? Also- do they add weight? Wonder if Im better off just getting...

which shotgun sights for close engagements/slugs?

heheh well good for you guys that have ghost rings...but you fail at reading comprehension :) Yeah Im wondering about the bead because Im shooting slugs- not shot. Its essentially a rifle this thing. Can I put rounds on a moving target(bears head) with just a bead is the question...not sure if...

which shotgun sights for close engagements/slugs?

This is my bear/zombie paranoia gun- a fabarm 14" barrel(Yup- Canadian) Im looking for the best sights for close up quick shots- not sure if that would be a bead because I have trouble snap shooting things at 30 ish yards and even closer with a bead. I just have trouble aiming at all with it-...

Who makes a great 2-7x scope for 500 ish

Im fixing to put one of these on my m1a zombie/deer rifle. Close enough for the zombies and enough range for deer- should be great as I'm into practicing offhand and wont be doing much long range stuff. Im a scope newb so no clue here...opinions welcome!
