    S&W 610 is a keeper

We have two Ruger 10mm revolvers and both are really accurate. This is a great revolver cartridge.

Where to get Blackhawk cylinder throats reamed?

We have the same Ruger; 10mm/38-40. The throats were undersized on the 38-40 and really under with the 10mm. I could not find anyone renting the 10mm reamer so I bought one. The revolver shoots markedly better and no leading problems.

    BFR 460 does it shoot 454 & 45

I have a 460 Smith. It will shoot 45 Colt but it definitely has its favorites as far as loads go. This was the best load I found to date. This was from 25 yards shooting 45 Colt and I was surprised enough that I turned the target upside down for a second 5-shot group to make sure it was not...

Point of Aim w/ Varied Calibers in Convertible Revolvers

We have a 9mm-357 convertible. I cannot speak to factory ammo but we have loads that deliver same POI @ 25 yards with 9mm, 38 Special, and 357 Mag.

    S&W model 24&14 accuracy

I can't speak to the model 24 but I had and competed with a model 14. The 14 is very accurate with wadcutters @ 50 yards but no more so than our Dan Wesson model 715. Where the model 14 shines is in action smoothness. It was absolutely drag free in single action and the best double action...

    .44 Magnum vs .41 Magnum

Like both the 41 and the 44 mags and we have both. We handload for everything so ammo is not a problem. I will say in my limited experience with 41 magnums, they seem to be easy to get good accuracy out of. That reason alone is enough for us to have one.

10mm the equivalent of the 41 - sheer BUFFOONERY

AA9 is what we use. Good velocity and great accuracy. We actually went higher than that to see if there were any pressure signs and we were still good at 1448 but the accuracy was no better so we reduced the load 1 grain. It was not compressed even at that point. Without the moon clips you can...

10mm the equivalent of the 41 - sheer BUFFOONERY

The barrel is 6.5" on the SRH and the bullet is a NOE gas check that weighs 203 grains with gas check and without lube.

10mm the equivalent of the 41 - sheer BUFFOONERY

We have revolvers in 10mm and 41 mag (as well as 357 mag as it was also mentioned in this thread). First, we handload everything with the principle that accuracy is more important than top velocity so no doubt someone could wring more energy out of some or all of these revolvers if that is the...

    41 magnum, why?

I happened into a 41 magnum, a Redhawk, when I really wasn't looking for one. Shooting this revolver has made me a 41 mag fan so much so we even picked up a 41 mag contender barrel after shooting the revolver. We also have many of the others mentioned in the thread: 357, 44 mag, etc plus even a...

Taffin says .357 Raging Hunter sets standard

That is great the accuracy the revolver showed. Not doubting what it did but I will be more of a believer after seeing some other Taurus revolver tests repeat the results. I hope that level of accuracy is typical in the new revolvers and not that this was just an exceptional example.

    357 Blackhawk

We have a number of Blackhawks including a 357/9mm revolver. This is a very capable revolver that can shoot the heavier bullets and the heaviest loads in 357 mag. The weight of the revolver benefits you in accuracy and less felt recoil. I used this revolver in the single action revolver...

March 2019 single action "old west" revolver 10 shot challenge

I wanted to try it once more. I had to change the elevation from the 9mm cylinder but if I would have gave it a click or 2 left, it would have been centered. This is the Ruger 9mm/357 Mag with the 357 cylinder. Two shots were close with one in but I marked the other out. 4/30/2019 Class 1, 15...

Colt Trooper MK III or Dan Wesson?

The Colt is nice but Dan Wesson is hard to beat for accuracy. The other nice thing about the DW is if you need any parts, they are still being made. We currently have 5 Dan Wessons that shoot much better than their affordable price would indicate. Highly recommend the Dan Wesson.

The concept of a "field pistol"?

We have a number that fill that niche but one I like is the Ruger SRH in 10mm. You can put on or take off a scope without interfering with the iron sights, it is more than powerful enough for anything in our area, can be loaded down to 40 S&W levels if less power is desired, and will group just...
