    Too much lube?

I did that first time loading 25-06. Too much lube and made a dent very like yours. I shot them, they fire formed and I could not tell which ones had the dent.

    9mm target powder choice

Of the propellants listed Silhouette would be the one I'd start with. Why? Cause it's the fastest burning of those you listed, and as Live life pointed out fast burning is the standard "go to" for target loads. Here is some load data, and a burn rate chart...

    Does press type matter?

Lee makes a few different single stage presses. Is it one of these and if so which one? https://leeprecision.com/reloading-presses/single-stage/ BTW does she have a sister?

What should my next powder purchase be?

natoreloading.com has a lot of way over max loads. On the other hand they have good info on the characteristics of a lot of popular powders.

    Win231 metering

Consistent drops in a Lee Auto-drum and Hornady. Within your plus or minus .01g standard; in my experience. I say go for it!

Even In Failure We Can Learn

It's really only a mistake if you do it again. I'm betting that won't happen.

    bell or no bell

I've gone to the NOE expander for 9mm coated or plated bullets. The NOE expander is installed in a Lee universal expander die, and replaces the conical expander supplied by lee. After slugging my 9mm barrels I've been using oversize bullets. I adjust the die so the bullet just barely fits when...

    Can these be "saved"?

Done it plenty of times. Just like everyone says. Slow and steady with a universal decapping die

    Wet pin tumbler build

I use one of these in a dual drum harbor freight tumbler. The squared off sides provides enough agitator action to keep the brass and pins moving . I keep 3 or 4 on hand and as I decap brass of a specific caliber it goes into the jar. BTW it's plastic and transparent. Not my invention, found...

.38 special was 158 gr, now 125 gr

When I first started looking up loads in my reloading manuals, I was surprised to see lighter bullets needed more powder than heaver bullets. Got something to do with mass and acceleration and the pressure created. Leave it to this forum to have the answer...
