Poll: What's Your Favorite Working Man's Knife?

Why does it have to be a "man's" knife? Hmm?

What's the most irresponsible thing you've ever done to pay for a gun you wanted?

I was dating a guy I was going to dump, but I knew he was buying me a gun for my birthday, so I held on for another few weeks to get the pistol. I dumped him a couple days later and kept the gun, which he demanded back, but didn't get.

Gov't gets poor marks on protecting gun rights

Our rights are rights against certain government actions. Rights are in direct opposition to government power - it only makes sense the government wants to whittle them down. It's just too bad we don't elect those who would seek to expand our rights, but rather those who seek to expand...

25 ACP and 32 ACP noise report question

I would say that my Beretta Tomcat is about as loud as my LCP - the 32 might be a little sharper bang than the 380. Barrel length is really most of the issue with the volume of the report. 22 CB longs in my S&W 622 are pretty sharp compared to my Savage single shot... The pistol sounded like...

Who carries reloads: Speed Loader vs. Magazine

I always carry a spare mag for whatever I'm carrying - or a speed strip for the revolvers I sometimes carry. It's not because I need the extra rounds for a gunfight, because I'll likely win or lose that based on things other than extra ammo, but because things break... "one is none..."

Wow, .22lr prices at Fred Meyer

I've quit some local gun shops over their prices recently... Say what you want about Walmart (I personally dislike nearly everything about them and shop there sparingly), but I was there today with a friend who was buying food, and while looking at the ammo case I saw two cans of 420 XM855 on...

Tactical Pistol Reloading Methods by D.R. Middlebrooks

Al, good job with the "eye roll" and "barf" icon - that's super "high road" of you.

Yes I am in Need of HELP

In all seriousness, I wish you well with your health. As someone without children, who likely will never have children, I still have many assets that will need to be disposed of after my inevitable death. A will is a very worthwhile instrument and would alleviate some of the concern over the...

Yes I am in Need of HELP

Oh, some women understand the 'therapeutic' value of a gunshop just fine. I, for one, just don't appreciate the attitude of many of those who gather in gunshops, offering unsolicited advice and often crude comments.

Holsters and Carry Methods: pros and cons

Why would I need and/or want to lift my cover garment that high? Valuable time and effort lost, IMO.

Holsters and Carry Methods: pros and cons

Appendix pros and cons: Pros: concealability, easier/faster draw. Can draw from seated in a car. Cons: not for those with large waists, comfort with certain pants/fits/, muzzle pointed at femoral artery (if you're concerned about guns going off on their own or your ability to draw or holster...

Holsters and Carry Methods: pros and cons

So, you reach all the way across your body and lift your shirt or jacket with your weak hand? I have long arms and it's a reach to get around to 4 o'clock to sweep up a cover shirt or coat...

Holsters and Carry Methods: pros and cons

Appendix for main carry method. Lift cover garment with left. Draw with right. With 3 or 4 o'clock carry, I would need to lift and draw with the same hand and bring the pistol around - not at efficient as appendix. When I cannot appendix carry, which is pretty much anytime I'm in a dress...

    Wrong house

Yeah, awesome, let us trivialize shooting a human being with little quips like "Smile. Wait for flash." Think about it what it actually means and decide if that is how you really feel. I saw way too much death and joking about it while I was in the army to ever find quips about it the least...
