I own several Rugers, 1 Taurus. The Rugers ALL shoot, and accurately. Every 1 is stone cold reliable. The 1 Taurus is an older .38 (82?) that decided that the cylinder wasn't supposed to lock up after the 2nd cylinder full of target grade .38s I put thru it. After trying to deal with Taurus' so...
A good .357 in the form of either a Ruger GP100 or an SP101 - you can't go wrong with either.
IF you decide to go with a 1911, Ruger's new SR1911 has great reviews, from those who can get them! My LGS had 2 that disappeared about as fast as they were put out on the shelf, hard to get now...
Yup , $365 is a good deal! Especially considering the package with the wood inlaid grips. That's what my Lipsey's model has, along with the 'target grey' finish. Much better looking than the standard SS, IMO. The $400 deal wasn't bad, either, but you done good!;) I suppose he threw in 2 boxes of...
I have my father's ithaca 1911 that he carried in Korea and SE Asia. It's looser than a goose, but fires every time, and is minute of bad guy accurate - 3-1/2"-4" at 25 yards, every time.
You couldn't pay me enough to modify that pistol. Everyone I've let shoot it has tried to buy it off...
Excellent info, HR. I've built some spinner targets in my shop, and use the feedback for the next round. This is more info than I've collected in the 5+ yrs I've been doing it. I had figured on using hardened plate for the next batch, if the cost isn't too prohibitive.
Thx for the info.
I've got the same problem - entered just the letter, the letter and 1st #, then 1st and
2nd #s, still no response. SN D24434.
It's a fairly old 1, has a finger groove forearm that's supposedly collectible. I dunno about that, but it's a durn good shooter!
Mine's been drilled and tapped...
I bought my stainless steel Gold Cup National Match NIB around 1994-5. The only regret I have is that I couldn't swing the stainless Delta Elite to go with it!
It's accurate, reliable, and a blast to shoot. Currently my nightstand gun,as I've never had a FTF/FTE, regardless of what I pushed...
To borrow a signature line from a member on another forum:
'What gun? I asked of she who must be obeyed!' ROFLMAO!!!!:D
It's a 2 way street bub - don't forget it, and you'll be fine. Keep a little mad money back, and give her some if a little windfall comes thru - she'll freak out and...
Joe,
I was checking out the perfectunion thread you listed. Did you ever get things resolved? I'm actually a self emplyed machinist, and was thinking about making my own, but would like to retain the rear sight for obvious reasons.
You have his address - have you tried mailing a letter?
Thx
"But as a progressive, I would sooner lay my child to rest than succumb to the belief that the use of a gun for self-defense is somehow not in itself a gun crime.":barf:
Just another example of our failed public school system. This moron obviously can't spell - It's PSYCHOPATH, not...
