I found when I started shooting eyes open that my jaw and neck even were more relaxed. Especially with earmuffs (as opposed to plugs). Also less eye fatigue. It was easy for me to switch because I hadn't been shooting long.

A good movie to watch is Lord of War. It is a not-so-fictional account of arms dealing to the third world, and the consequences (including genocide).

I didn't read all the posts. I was 35. I don't think things are happening more often, we just hear about everything more due to media, and more importantly social media.

Count me as a novice who wasn't a shooter during the last "bubble." I thought I had a pretty good stash. :rolleyes: I had no idea what was coming but I don't resent anyone for it; that's capitalism.

My husband is a fair weather shooter, as well. He shot as a kid and can run a gun and enjoys the 38 special. He is patient with my hobby as long as I don't spend too much. The 38 is necessary (he grew up in Texas and everyone should have a gun in the house); anything beyond that is a luxury...

I would love to get into reloading and have a press but components are impossible to get my hands on. I wasn't a shooter yet during the last shortage and apparently I am stupid and shortsighted for not seeing this one coming. Oh well, people have short attention spans; it will level out.

I have what would be referred to as a cabinet, I suppose. It is bolted to the floor and the studs of the wall behind it. It isn't really intended to deter theft as much as mischief and it is adequate to do that.

Does anyone have any idea how long the backorder wait is for small primers from Brownell's? It doesn't really matter; I don't have them ordered anywhere else, I found some 38 special ammo for the interim, and they don't charge you until they ship. Just curious.
