Is everyone still loving their Ruger Wranglers?

Look closely into the muzzle with a good light. Dollars to donuts you find cerakote overspray for the first few mm's down the bore.

Stopped Cleaning your Gun! I did - You Too?

I used to have that mindset, until one of my most cherished guns grew pits in the barrel from fouling, dirt, or whatever trapping moisture. Even smokeless through a chrome lined barrel. I had bought a new hunting rifle and set the old one aside with plans on rescoping it the next week. Next week...

Is everyone still loving their Ruger Wranglers?

I bought 2. I love them in that when I returned them, Ruger gave me 50% off MSRP for the pair of SFAR's that replaced them when Ruger determined after 2 returns that they were both unsafe to be fired, and unfixable.

Hypothetically what would be your choice: Uzi in 9mm w/ 16 Mags or Winchester Lever Action in 45/70 w/ 100 rounds of ammo?

Well, I took the obvious route. See post #7 for what I think is the correct reply, from my experience owning them both. Of the two, the Uzi gets more use, simply for cost of ammo. Neither is practical. Both are fun. The .45-70 has a bit more utility as a hunting rifle should I have the urge to...

    S&W 14-4 (trash or treasure $980)

I wouldn't have anywhere near the collection I do if I had to wait for guns to trickle into the few local shops, then I'd have to pay their ridiculous prices. Speaking of 14-4's...you need one. Yes you do.

    S&W 14-4 (trash or treasure $980)

way too high. I had to stop myself from bidding on this because I'm tapped out. Again. If I didn't already have one I would have. https://www.gunauction.com/buy/17335731 If you want a 14-4, here is what looks like a nice one. Maybe not quiet as nice but for a much better price...

    So, what's too heavy?

I had brief moments where I fancied taking my DE hunting. My personal decision was that if you can't shoot it well offhand and have to use a rest anyways, you might as well be using a rifle. My personal take is that a 5lb handgun with a scope is pushing the boundaries of what i consider handgun...

Today, $400 is considered cheap for 'em.

The sporter AK's that take AK mags are the pinnacle of fun for an SKS pattern rifle.

    I guess I'll keep it

Thats a keeper, and its in beautiful condition. Gotta love that prewar Colt finish. I just bought the same gun, same year, but a 6" barrel. I have 2 weeks before I can pick it up but that old Colt bluing is so nice I had to take some pictures at the shop while I was filling out paperwork. Two...

    Colt revolver collectors are weird.

There is something special about the old colt finishes....in natural light the blue undertone really comes out I'm happy how this played out now that I have had the Colt in hand.

Smith and Wesson 4506--Thoughts and Experiences?

I decided I needed at least one 3rd gen S&W auto. I went with a 4506 because why not get the biggest. And it is big. I'd prefer the -1 with its rounded trigger guard and beefed up frame, but the no dash is almost as 80's cool.

Honey hole strikes again with a Colt.

Yes. It started as a blackpowder round, then evolved into a smokeless powder round of about the same velocity. After a time smokeless powder developed to the point that "hi speed" loads were developed, intended for rifles only. This is because the powder did not burn consistently enough to be...

Honey hole strikes again with a Colt.

Here are my other two...My original as I purchased it with its very professionally done custom barrel, And with new barrel. I know, the history and mystery of that vintage old barrel...Could have been done by a prohibition era moonshiner to tuck more easily into his pocket...., If so, he...

Honey hole strikes again with a Colt.

It's a good way to lock down the snooze-you-lose opportunities. This one is 20% down and I have 90 days but I don't go too crazy, I only commit to what I can have paid for in the next payday without stressing. Unless something really nice comes along..😍
