    Filler for dummy rounds?

Try seating a Cabela or any fiberous lubed blackpowder revolver wad before adding any inert material. It won't hurt the firing pin. The fit should be relatively tight so nothing leaks. I hope you figure out your issue. Happy New Year.

Thoughts on the Training Roadmap and Objectives

I understand the importance of training. However, most people don't have the time or the financial resources needed to bring full fledged combat ready training to bear. Realism is an important component to both home front defense and while traveling away from home. The level and the type of...

    Cartridge Conversion Cartridge Question

I've recently acquired a conversion cylinder for my Pietta steel framed 1858 Remington, the kind without the gate. I have some Miwell. 45 Colt Cowboy ammo with 250gr.with flat nosed round lead bullets. I figured on trying out my new cylinder soon but wanted to ask if it is safe. Standard...

Loading my own .45ACP CONVERSION CYLINDER LOADS

Thanks for your input. Softer bullets sound like great advise. I can always use the ones I have already with other firearms I have. Thanks for your powder and loading cautions.

Loading my own .45ACP CONVERSION CYLINDER LOADS

Soft lead vs. my hard cast. Okay! FMJ I'm a tad doubtful on. As I understand it it, Pietta blackpowder recommendations cautions against full metal jacket use. However, I've heard others say different. Thank you for your input.

Loading my own .45ACP CONVERSION CYLINDER LOADS

Yeah, I said .45ACP conversion cylinder loads. Apparently they aren't readily available these day and that the 45 Colt is more popular with more cowboy reloading information out there. I have one of these in stainless for a Pietta Remington 1858. 45ACP cowboy ammo is not only difficult to find...

    Mossberg 500/590 questions

I've got a barely used Mossberg 500 Cruiser in 20 gauge quite a few years ago for a pittance. I loved the 20 gauge as it has somewhat less kick, although with less weight, that is debatable. I liked the compactness of the pistol grip only but a shoulder stock is the way to go. Just better...

M96/38, M38 and M96 front sight protectors differences

More dumb dumb questions. Here goes. My Swedish M38, that I recently purchased, didn't come with a front sight protector. I want to get one for it. My M96 has one and it looks great! IMHO )1) Were these sight protectors discarded a lot when the Swedes used this rifle back in the day or is...

    Bore condition on Swede M38

My purpose built M38 Swedish Mauser (with the bent bolt ) has all three numbers on the brass disc that indicate bore condition with arrows pointed at each one. The bore looks great! All the parts numbers are matching on this 1942 Husky, serial # 6515XX. Is this just a succession of bore...
