1952 Wingmaster. Is there a rule of thumb on thickness for cast adjustment? I'm thinking of starting with 2/16 ".

I plan on adjusting for cast with a shim. If I'm shooting to the left of center, would I put the shim (between butt plate and receiver) on the left or the right?
