Police recovered my stolen gun. I now live out of state.

I'm thinking now the best way is to contact a Wyoming FFL and ask them if they'll do the pick up and transfer, with a notarized letter from me. Leave my buddy out of it.

Police recovered my stolen gun. I now live out of state.

My logic works like this: 1) Who owns the gun? Clearly, me. I never lawfully transferred the gun to the thief or to the police. 2) Since my friend and I are residents of different states, I can't lawfully transfer ownership to him. (Neither can the police, as they aren't the owners.) 3)...

Police recovered my stolen gun. I now live out of state.

Thanks for the responses. The part I'm worried about is the police giving the gun to my friend, so he can ship it to my FFL. How can they just give him a gun (even with a notarized letter from me) without doing a background check on him? Note: The police in Wyoming who have my gun have not...

Police recovered my stolen gun. I now live out of state.

A couple of years ago, I had some guns stolen in a burglary in Wyoming. One of them, I didn't claim on my insurance as they police recovered it a few days after the crime. The perpetrator was apprehended and the gun was held as evidence for the trial. Now, the trial is over and I've since...

Plinking/shooting around legal in national forest?

You can shoot in every national forest I ever researched, except in designated restricted areas. The info can be a little hard to find. You pretty much have to researh the specific forest you're interested in. Like this...

Norinco Remington 870 copy 7+1 Mag Tube Extension Available

Hey MAX100 - How about answering my emails regarding the status of my extension? I'm getting little worried, since you cashed my check in January and it's now March 5, and I still don't have the extension. Not responding to my emails doesn't help, either.

    Ruger LCP recall

I'm filling in the recall form on Ruger's website. It's asking for a "ship to" address. Can Ruger ship this directly to me, or do I have to have them ship it to someone who holds a FFL?

    National Park concealed carry

If I'm reading the new ruling regarding weapons in National Parks, I have to carry concealed. So now I've got a problem. If I hike in Jellystone or the Tetons, I'd like to carry my S&W 629 .44 mag. Currently, I have no way to conceal it. Does anyone have any experience with those goofy...

    Character references???

When I lived in Michigan, Wayne county added a requirement to provide references to their CCW permit process. I'd write them something like this: Dear Sirs and Madams, I have known John Smith since 1992. He is a business associate, as well as a personal friend. He is reliable, rational...
