Safe $1500 budget! Would love to do less!

Guys I ended up doing a lower cost safe. I spoke with my Insurance agent and several police friends and went with a Champion Model T. It was 650 and does really what I need. It will be bolted down and in a corner. All my cop buddies told me the same...they have never seen a safe breached...

    Pistol Grip for Knight SR15E3

I have an SR15E3 and I have put a hogue grip on it. I like it but want one that is going to cover the web of my hand better. I am not a fan of hard plastic grips like the MIAD because but I cant recall it I ever held an AR15 with the MIAD...honestly just dont remember which means it didnt...

Gun Safes that can take an Axe Hit..Amsec, Sturdy, Forts, Summitt?

So no info of the amsec drylight? It isn't concrete, not as dense, nor as hard or strong. But still impressive. So my delema is how well will a 11gauge wall with drylight hold up to an attack with an axe or sledge compared to a 7 gauge? This is my hold up on the amsec. I am so unfamilar with...

Gun Safes that can take an Axe Hit..Amsec, Sturdy, Forts, Summitt?

We pretty much know a 12 gauge will not hold up. And a 10 gauge isnt much better. Sturdy and CE Safes new Fort Knox with 7 gauge can take the hit. But will something like a Amsec BF? I am only talking body here not the door for all the doors are typically thick enough to hold off anything. But...

Safe $1500 budget! Would love to do less!

Oh and my mistake...meant TF6030. BF is the best from Amsec. If I could get it for 1200...I wouldnt be looking at anything else. It really is one of the best safes out!

Safe $1500 budget! Would love to do less!

Summitt Series Ranier is another I discovered. It hits all the minimums. Price is decent and looks like a quality safe. I dont know where is is made or much of the inside. The website doesnt have too much detail or pictures on it.

Safe $1500 budget! Would love to do less!

The rhino 56 is the top of my list. Seems to have all the fixing I need 10 gauge (I would like better but this is at least the minimum I will do in a safe). I also looked at a steelwater which was 1499 shipped and has 9 gauge body with a 1/4" plus solid steel door. I was pretty impressed with...

Safe $1500 budget! Would love to do less!

Safe $1500 budget! Would love to do less! UPDATED! Ok I am rethinking my safe approach. I look at it from a perspective that I would have this for a long time! I dont have a substantially firearms investment but I have enough with ammo to know I dont want to lose it! I estimate my guns are...

    Need a new safe

I hate to say it... I Backed out of the Winchester. I put money down on it to hold it after initially seeing it and went to pay the remaining amont where I got more time to look closer...the door doesnt close tightly, you can rattle it when it is locked...very sloppy. There was so much play in...

    Need a new safe

Thanks teach, you hit it on the head "People who live in remote, isolated areas probably need better protection. People with large, expensive collections probably need better protection. The average shooter with $5K in firearms probably needs a RSC, a decent alarm, and a rider on their...

    Need a new safe

If someone knows what they are doing...aka a pro...that is what insurance is for. All my stuff is insured. They can have it at that point. If anyone has a substantial collection and relies solely on their safe is asking for trouble. I have neither a substantial collection or live in a high...

    Need a new safe

Safe is ul tested, and it uses a lagard keypad/lock. Lock is UL rated also. Do yourself a favor...as I have done for myself. Go look at the Winchester that I am considering. Then go look at the comparable Stack on or Sentry as I have also...also look at the comparable liberty...either at...
