I am skeptical that you can get a grip that is as high as promised. The trigger is supposedly heavy and they didn't do anything to move the trigger farther up relative to the top of the grip so reach will be a deciding factor in how high you get.

I prefer the push style Safariland loaders. I clearance the grips as far as possible whether they need it or not. You can always use more room to maneuver on a j-frame.

The offset on that is gonna be nasty.

Morgo, even if it was tuned for Federal small pistol it may have also been tuned for hand seated primers. It makes a big difference.

3" has a full length ejector. Absolutely go with the 3".

1911Tuner, it isn't the chambering that worries me, it is ejecting the .357 cases after they are fired especially under time pressure. I no longer shoot .38 in the guns I have reserved for .357 because I am not willing to do the cleaning anymore. I have also had bad experiences when the cleaning...

It is a common problem. Yours is a bit extreme. Call them and they will take care of it and pay shipping both ways.

Surreptitiously applying tape to a magazine or mag well is an old favorite. Wow I hadn't noticed that. When Randy Lee moon clipped my competition 66 he said he couldn't do much with the .38/.357 case for safety and it ended up no where near as aggressive as that.

Shimming is the way to go. You won't get the trigger feel improvement if all you do is stop the rubbing.

Power custom makes shims but they come in packs of 10 and are pricey. Taking the slop out is part of a good trigger job.

You can make a round square, but you can't make a square round. Okay, you can, but you have to be handy with a file. The round butt doesn't print as much.

Moon clips are optional. It works with or without. Moon clips are tough to get working well in .38. You need the right brass and I have bought some sub-par clips in the past.

If you can find a 3" 6-shot 686 in my case. The conversion is cheaper if you take into account the odds of getting screwed buying a used gun sight unseen.
