    Wondering what I have?

Not trying to be rude, but it looks to me like a pretty fancy bottle opener. I don't think I'd be tempted to try and use it as a knife .... in fact I'd be inclined to make sure the edges aren't sharp at all.

    My 1st KA-BAR!

I'd love to know a little more about that blade Ryan. Is it a HI?

    .38 / .357 pump rifles / carbines?

Taurus makes one in a variety of versions, including a carbine version http://www.taurususa.com/products/product-details.cfm?id=403&category=Rifle and Uberti make one as well. http://www.uberti.com/firearms/lightning.php Can't speak to the quality of either one, but they both look...

    Oddball goofy sword question

It looks to be essentially a falchion derived from a falcatta. The single edged falchion was commonly issued to archers and other troops in medieval times because its a slashy, hacky kinda weapon that doesn't require a great deal of finesse to be effective, but can be very effective indeed...

    Italian Gun Laws

Compared to ....? Compared to the UK, some aspects of the Italian gun laws don't sound too bad. Compared to Australia, some aspects of the Italian gun laws don't sound too bad. Compared to New Zealand, some aspects of the Italian gun laws don't sound too bad. It all depends on your...

    .30-06 EBRs?

So, back to the original question, "Why aren't there many 30.06 EBRs?" Probably because the .308 cartridge (or 7.62NATO) has similar ballistics yet is a shorter overall length. The rifle's mechanism doesn't have to move so far to extract, eject and feed another 7.62NATO round and that means...

    Non-USA members

The attitudes to guns in New Zealand have changed a lot over the last 50-60 years. I remember my father telling me that when he was at school during WWII the boys all had compulsory rifle training (SMLEs) at school and were taught how to field strip and maintain Bren guns ... along with...

"Why do you NEED a silencer?"

Here in New Zealand there are no restrictions at all on sound moderators (or silencers or whatever else you want to call them). A lot of people who have .22s also have a moderator on them or at least for them. They're reasonably cheap and easily purchased ... in fact more easily purchased...

    Non-USA members

Thank you Dope! I've been a member of this forum for a few years now, but I really don't post very often because of the derogatory comments that get posted about other countries and their gun laws. You can just about guarantee than anytime the UK is mentioned, someone will start the Brit...

    political cartoons re: Heller outcome?

Well, that one is implying that gun owners and 2a supporters are nuts ..... that's why the guy in the NRA hat with the open carry T shirt is being carried by a bunch of squirrels to be stored with the other nuts. Not exactly a positive image, pro-2a sentiment really. :scrutiny:

    Curse you, Cold Steel!

Joe, why buy a Cold Steel knife that isn't exactly what you want, when you can get what you want elsewhere (probably cheaper)? Try Track of the Wolf http://www.trackofthewolf.com/(S(dcnyyoe3cm1buhqqvb1wq3u5))/categories/partList.aspx?catId=9&subId=58&styleId=224&PageSize=10&Page=3 or...
