Read the following article by Bruce Woodford, he worked the maintenance van at Camp Perry for many years.
Lots of great information on throat erosion and muzzle wear.

I have had good luck with the cast bullets from Penn Bullets.
I have not tried these 270 grain "thunderheads" but they look like they would fit your needs.
Scroll down it's the 11th one listed.

I have an old Lyman/Ohaus M5, that I picked up off of ebay for around $50.00, and then I sent it to Scott Parker for his custom tuning.
It's dead on accurate and has worked great.
Here is his facebook page with his contact info.

I bought Ruger SR1911 this past spring, and have put about 500 rounds through it so far.
I have been impressed to say the least, I have had no problems at all with it.
Another plus is that it is very accurate, my scores in my Wed. night league have gone up quite a bit since last year...
I use that exact S&B round for deer hunting.
Yes it is quite stout, it's defiantly a full power round made for the .323 bore 8mm.
S type bore = .323, while older Mauser's had the R type .318 bore.
The S&B 8x57 JS 196 SPCE (soft point cutting edge)
at the muzzle is going 2591 (fps) and...
I just was reading through the latest issue of GUNS magazine, they had a review of a Ruger Redhawk in 45 Colt/45ACP.
The jist of the review was the author had great accuracy with 45 Colt loads (factory and hand-loads) But with 45 ACP the groups size was very dependent of the type of factory...
There was a nice little video on CBS Sunday Morning about Scalia.
It talked about his life as well as going into his belief in original intent or originalism as he called it.

Midway USA has it in stock.
I have used this same S&B ammo for deer hunting for the past few years.
It works great!

On the CMP forum there is a thread were people post when they ordered and how long it takes to ship.

Currently it looks like orders are being processed in around a week.
For most folks the rule of thumb for mail order is to go...
I have bought that exact 30 round magazine.
I loaded it to the top with 30 rounds and it worked great no problems.
I have a type two mag catch, it has an M on it.
It's not underlined and their is no extra support leg.
I first looked at cricket sized rifles, and came to the conclusion they were just way too small.
So I ended up buying my kids a Savage MK2 in the youth version.
When they were pretty small we shot mostly off sand bags.
Now that they have gotten a little bigger (and can handle the rifle...
Orion7 is known to have very good springs.

I bought the complete spare kit for my Garand.
Having all new springs and pins just eliminates any future problems that might occur from worn out parts.
