I had a Rock Island in 45 a few years back, it was a great gun and I never had a single problem with it but those GI sights are TINY. I'm sure the Supers a fine as well. I sold it to a buddy and bought my first Colt.
I love the Super 38 and have two Colt Governments in that caliber.
Most store bought 38 Super ammo available today is pretty mild (even though it's usually labeled +P) The factory stuff I checked chrono'd at 1100fps out of my 5" bbl
It's a fun caliber to load for, I use Hornady 125g HAP...
I've owned a Model 70 in .270 Win that was made in '73 since the early eighties. It has always been my deer rifle and is very accurate. I've never had a single issue with it.
Don't want to de-rail a cool thread but I don't believe anything that comes from the UN, especially from the office of disarmament. That's just propaganda to get people to discard ammo and in their disillusioned eyes "save lives"
