    Are 9mm's ammo sensitive?

What bullet weight were you using? I'm guessing it was 115gr. Try 124gr and see if that helps. A friend, that use to have an ammo company, said that 228s and other handguns designed for miltary use often work better with 124gr bullets.

    IDPA revolver gear

AVOID READY TACTICAL I have a bunch of his stuff - the speedloader holders will crack and break. (For full disclosure - I'm also still unhappy because the owner never shipped everything on a group order and ignored emails and regular mail letters - not the sort of guy you want to deal with!)...

Looking for best deal in gun belts

It depends on the look you want: If you like nylon - the Wilderness belt is probably the #1 seller. For leather > The beltman - a truly great guy and product. > but for 49.95, this one is really hard to beat. They were on display at the 2010 Carolina Cup (One of he world's largest...

Paddle holsters, How you like them?

If you decide to look at paddle holsters in the future, for ccw, look at the Galco holsters and the Wild Bill's holsters. Much better than the Fobus or Uncle Mike's you're looking at. If kydex is your preference, look at Comp-tac. (Blade-tech has great holsters but Comp-tac is the better...

    870 for $250

I've seen folks ask more than $250 for a used 870 Express. I have both an old 870 wingmaster and a 870 express. I got the 870 expressed used and don't worry if it gets wet (duck hunting). It works great. If you should have a problem (like the guy above) I'm guessing a quick trip to a...

    Value of Model 10-5 snub

I'm not sure how a snubby effects the price. I've seen 4" versions in nice 95%+ condition range from $225 to $350. There is some value to having the original box IMO. Offer $275 and see where it goes...... Check the recent sales on Gunbroker and/or only look at actions where folks are...

    Dillon SDB and Universal Clays

I have never use Universal Clays but I do use Clays. It is a very fine powder/low volumn powder and the load I use for 9mm is under 3.4gr. I went to an x-small powder bar and that seems to work better for me. One tip, when you adjust the powder measure make sure the handle is down and the...

    Permission to hunt blank form

The rules vary by county (and perhaps even city) in NC. In the county I hunt in the written authorization must indicate that we have permission to use a centerfired rifle. Local rules are summarized in the booklet the wildlife commission prints out.

What's the shelf life for Pyrodex

I’m dusting off my old Thompson Center Hawkins rifle for hunting season. I have some Pyrodex RS that was purchased in 2003. I has been sealed and stored in my (insulated garage). Should I toss the powder and get new or should it be OK? And what's the shelf life for #11 percussion...

.380 Case Mixed in While Reloading 9mm

I case gage everything I load. If I didn't notice it at the sorting or resizing stations I do catch it with the case gage.

    Cc in nc

While the statutes specify what must be covered, cc courses are not all created equal. Pick an instructor that is well known - you'll get more out of the class. I have names of excellent instructors in Raleigh/Cary and Wilson. Can get you names if you're anywhere near Oxford. Class will...

    Ordered a S&W 642 today

I like the Wild Bill's pocket holster. I checked a bunch of pocket holsters b4 I picked this one up. Everyone that has tried it has liked it. A number of my friends recommended the holster. google wild bill holsters

    gun for IDPA, or IPSC

As far as IDPA goes, you can use 9mm XD in the "ESP" class. Some do not like this because ESP also allows a 9mm 1911 style pistol. For reasons that may not be important, some feel they are at an disadvantage using a XD in ESP. Another option, get the XD in a .45 ACP. That gun can be used...

    gun for IDPA, or IPSC

just to be clear, the action is classified by the government, not IDPA. IDPA basically says anything classified a certain way by the government does not qualify for SSP. They did not make a rule that excluded XDs.

North Carolina honor non resident Pa lic: ?

The issue is whether you are a legal resident of NC. The information on the attorney general's website provides NC will honor certain permits for non residents. Thus any NC resident must have a NC permit. I don't think the Department of Justice can give you a ruling on whether you're...
