    AAC Raffle

I was at the AAC Silencer Shoot in September. They did indeed have the raffle. I was there to witness it. The winners were present at the shoot. It was posted, along with pictures, on www.silencertalk.com. It may also be posted on the AAC blog available from the company's website...

    Cheap/good spotting scope?

I have one of these: http://www.opticsplanet.net/barska-20-60x60-blackhawk-spotting-scopes.html I paid ~$80 for it, but I got it when it was on sale someplace online. I don't remember exactly where. It's inexpensive, but does provide a clear picture at 100 yards. I can see 22 caliber...

Home Invasion Defense: Slim bullet vs. Fat bullet

I agree with the poster who said that if you are worried about a home invasion, to go ahead and beef up your home. Good doors, locks, exterior lighting, an alarm system, and a good dog are all useful. You can also 'harden' windows by using a laminate on them that makes them virutally...

Good ammo for semi auto shotguns.

I picked up a 15 round 'valuepack' of Remington 00 buck for around $7.50 at WallyWorld. You might be able to find the stuff cheaper if you order bulk online. I suggest you go to the store and buy some ammo from different manufacterers and see what works best for you. Personally, I like the...

    Bennelli M2 pricing!

I have an M2 field gun, but they also make an M2 tactical. I've got nothing but good things to say about my M2, and Benelli products in general. It feeds the bulk Wally World ammo (Federal and Winchester anyway) without any issues. I don't think you'll be able to wear it out. The military...

Interesting observation at dinner last night

When I go into a place where carry is prohibited, I find it much easier to simply remove my gun and secure it in the car and leave my holster on. My normal carry holsters all have belt loops, so to remove the holster, I have to remove my belt. When you get back to the car, it's much...

What is the best .22LR autoloader...

It's the most accurate 22 I own. I learned shooting one that my dad had. His was a Belgian, and a tackdriver. Unfortunately, his was stolen. I ended up buying one, and they're now made in Japan. For what it's worth, it still looks great and shoots great. I like the fact that it ejects...

    9mm Suppressors? Just how quiet?

I have an Evo-9 and a G-17 combo. It's not as quiet as a 22 silencer, but it's pretty darn quiet. A nail gun is a good analogy, and so is slamming a book on the table. I was amazed at the sound the bullet made impacting the berm downrange. Sounded like a solid punch by a professional boxer...

    silencers.....

If you can legally buy a gun, you can buy a silencer. The paperwork isn't that involved really. There is one form to fill out that is similar to the federal form you fill out when you go buy a gun. Your dealer will help you. Typically, it requires a photograph, Cheif Law Enforcement signoff...

How do you reply to this comment by anti-gun

Perhaps they shouldn't issue me a permit to carry, then tell me I can't carry in any decent restraunt (so it has to be locked in the car), just because they serve alcohol (and I don't drink). To me, it should be the same standard as being too drunk to drive...but that's not the subject of this...

do all hk's have internal lock's?

It's unfortunate that HK decided to place locks in their guns. At least it's easy to remove. I hate internal locks. I wish some states would require that all guns be available without internal locks. It should be up to the customer.

    Converted an Anti today...

Sounds like an excuse to buy a silencer.... I would also suggest going to a more private range if you can. That way there won't be other shooters and you can talk to her and be able to communicate with her. Perhaps she'll find that more to her liking.

    Safe - purchase problem

I applaud you for wanting to keep your guns secure, and also understand the limitiations that you have with respect to your living arrangements, financial constraints, etc. Here is what I did when I lived in an apartment and prior to getting a "Residential Security Container" which I call a gun...

    gun clubs

It sometimes seems we're headed in the same direction. The rules for joining a range vary by the range. Some are public and free, such as the two within about 20 miles of me. They are located on public lands, and you just show up and shoot. One of these is manned by a ranger, and has more...
