    Lightening up Red Rider action

The Red Ryder has the whole nostalgia thing going for it, but just about every other air rifle in Daisy's lineup (besides the Buck) is a better shooter. The Powerline 880 is easy to pump, more powerful, and more accurate (in my hands anyway), and isn't much more expensive.

    Colt 1991

True, but the OP said he's looking for a "All practical, no BS" carry gun, so the roll-mark is probably less of an issue than it would be if he were looking for a BBQ gun. Function before fashion. ;)

Help!!!! whats this springfield 1911 worth!!!

Also, unless you have documentation and an itemized invoice from a well-known 'smith for the work that was done, the "upgrades" actually hurt the resale value of the gun. Some folks, myself included, will generally avoid "project" guns.

Do you prefer a Concealed Carry handgun WITH or WITHOUT a manual safety?

x2 When/if I need to use my carry weapon to defend myself (or others), I just want to draw, point, and squeeze.

Every handgun collection should include these.

My list would be pretty simple... 1) Polymer "wonder nine" (M&P, Glock, XD, etc) 2) Subcompact version of #1 3) J-frame S&W and if I have to choose four... 4) 1911 The older I get, the less interested I am in safe queens and "BBQ" guns. I want dependable guns in proven calibers...

Has the the quality of today's 9mm bullets made the .40 cal obsolete?

I have found, in my years of owning/shooting handguns, that my followup shots are faster and more accurate with a 9mm than .40 cal., so that's what I carry. I don't buy into the "knockdown power" myth and I believe in shooting until the threat is neutralized, so the difference between one...

    S&W M&P's new single stack?

I think we'll see a fairly significant drop in price once the "new-ness" wears off. I believe the average retail price will wind up being comparable to the LC9.

    S&W M&P's new single stack?

Looking at the dimensions posted by S&W, it's really not that much smaller overall. It's .25" thinner than the 9c, but all the rest of the dimensions seem to be within ~.5" or so.

    S&W M&P's new single stack?

I think this is sound advice, and not just from a beta-testing perspective. With an MSRP of ~$450, actual retail will probably fall in the ~$400 range to start but will likely drop to the $325-$350 range once initial demand subsides...or even lower, if its MSRP/retail pricing ratio is...

    S&W M&P's new single stack?

I've been excitedly waiting for this little pistol to be released, but after checking the dimensions, it really has nothing to offer over the Kahr CM9 I already own. I carry an M&P9c iwb ~95% of the time, but there are times when a smaller/lighter gun is just more comfortable or practical. I...

How Many 1911s do you own?

You may want to work on your reading comprehension as well. No bashing, just facts. If you don't want to read others' views and experiences, perhaps you should create your own forum where you can start threads and be the only one to respond to them. That way you'd never have to deal...

How Many 1911s do you own?

If you'll take a moment to reread my post you'll see that I answered the OP's question in the first sentence of my response: You may want to turn off the computer once in a while and spend some time working on your reading comprehension. ;)

    Would you trade a S&W 638 for a CZ Rami P 9mm?

No, but I did sell my 638 and replace it with a Kahr CM9. It's slightly heavier, but it holds two more rounds and is flatter and easier for me to conceal.

How Many 1911s do you own?

I owned five at one point (two Colts, two Kimbers, and an early DW), but I'm currently down to one...and I'm fine with that. As much as I love the platform, I find that there are other guns I'd much rather carry on a daily basis and/or use to defend my family/home. My 1911 stays in the safe...

When did Kimber become a bad word?

A great many of them are purchased, loaded, and placed in a nightstand, dresser drawer, or holster without ever being fired.
