    NJ and Guns (Visit)

I agree with the other posts here - leave the gun at home. If you want more info, go here: http://www.njsp.org/firearms/transport-firearm.shtml (Official NJ State Police site) Just remember, the local cop who pulls you over is NOT a NJ Firearms law expert; you will be arrested and it is...

I need help with purchase of an M1 Carbine.

I bought what I thought was an Underwood M1 Carbine about 3 years ago, only to discover it was a Quality Hardware carbine with an Underwood barrel. I was trying to build a "WW II Typewriter Arsenal - Underwood, IBM carbines, Smith-Corona M1903A3, and maybe, someday, a Singer 1911. Remember...

    No more burst fire mode?

Back in the day (late 1970's) the M16 I carried was SAFE-SEMI-AUTO and we were taught trigger control.

Sadest gun in the scrap bin

It happened in Hartford, CT - the two cops running the "turn-in" recognized it for what it was and managed to save it. I believe the gun ended up going to a local museum (although unregistered it was not in functional condition which may have helped).

Interesting View On Gun Rights Debate

I found this article in The Week by Jeb Golinkin - https://theweek.com/articles/562715/what-liberals-always-miss-about-gun-rights I thought this is an interesting viewpoint, and not one that is presented too often.

"Bullseye Reloads" Banned at State Range

Many of these restrictions may not be the ranges fault; a lot of insurance companies put pressure on firearms ranges to restrict ammo (factory only), shooting style (no drawing from the holster, no rapid fire), etc., to limit liability. Years ago I used to go to a nice range about half an...

What is the most cherished gun in you collection

I've got two - First is my Colt 1911 Combat Commander .45 ACP; I bought it at a gun store where I was working in the mid '80s in Greenwich, CT. The store's long gone now, but I have fond memories of my time there and the people I worked with. The second is a Rossi Model 88 .38 Special - an...

    Beware...AMMO THIEVES.

Reminds me of the time several years ago I was in a Cabela's when a customer brought up a box of .300 Win to the register. The clerk opened up the box to check, and then dumped them onto the counter. Out came 20 .30-06 rounds. He said it had happened a lot recently. If I remember, it happened...

I chose "Which is the best handgun defense round?" followed closely by "What's the overall best: 1911 or Polymer?".
