What does it mean to say a gun has "soul"?

It’s just a mechanism to describe what they feel. It is obvious that human beings can have visceral reactions to what they see. The shape of an object, its curve, its color or shade, proportion, symmetry, or similarity to something liked or love. For what ever biological reason, people see...

What does it mean to say a gun has "soul"?

I nominate this sawed-off coach gun in the hands of Pam Grier featured in the movie Coffy, as having the most “Soul”. This should certainly close the thread for what other firearm could possess more soul?

    I got an S&W Bodyguard .380

Recoil on the Bodyguard is tolerable. Some of the older versions have slightly better triggers; still a longer pull but much lighter. Have owned mine almost 10 years, no FTFs. Slim profile is easy to conceal. Use the extended floor plate magazine to help control the recoil.

    Backpacking with a Firearm

455 Hunter and Blue Jays are right. The guns they cite are very lightweight and can fit in most pockets or pouches. Here are the weights along with some other very light gun options. IMHO, the best options would be the S&W 317 or the Ruger Max with NAA backup. One gun only, weight top...

    LCP alternatives

The S&W Bodyguard with engraved stainless steel slide I have had since 2018 has been very reliable and accurate. Very slim, a little bit larger in size. Note that most have a very long trigger pull, my copy is much less than others I have handled. The Ruger LCP Max has everything already noted...

about Ruger SR-22 can be dry-fired

Is it not absolutely amazing what you can learn by perusing a product’s owners manual cover to cover Answers to perplexing questions, moments where you exclaim “I didn’t know that! Still, using snap caps as extra insurance for dry firing every pistol and revolver is a good practice.

    Your personal carry rules/guidelines

That is quite a list of rules and guidelines; from your own extensive personal experience for sure. My rules are similar to what PapaG said: Have a gun, Be familiar with it, Practice meaningfully, Be insured, Know the laws, Carry it. I personally need to practice more and carry more frequently.

Can someone compare with Ruger SR22 and Walther P22?

The Walther P22 was the worst firearm I have ever owned. Every time the gun fired, the slide stayed partially open about a half-inch requiring you to use your thumbs to push the slide forward. When I cleaned the gun, corkscrew shaped pieces of lead would come out of the barrel. A 22LR bronze...

Thank you for the comprehensive reply. I learned quite a few things that I was clueless about.

    Maverick 88 the real deal

Where did you buy the picatinny rail for a Mossberg shotgun?

A good day in one picture.

Comments and questions: That appears to be extremely fine shooting with a cannon. Everybody does seem to have dressed blind-folded. What distance in the competition? Why squirrels? Why white pants? Is that blue shirt truly a historical accurate fabric color?

    The Combat .22 Semi-Auto

My Ruger SR22 has been 100% reliable using high velocity ammo. I generally use only CCI MiniMag. My co-worker owns the Smith&Wesson M&P 22 Compact which has been 100% reliable for him; again using HV CCI.

    British PM on knives.

London has a knife problem due to demographics. Recent immigration trends has brought young men accustomed to using knives for criminal behavior and violent behavior. Other demographic trends include welfare (or the dole); in many families none one has ever held a job for the last four or...
