    Who dislikes/hates the Beretta 92FS/M9?

To put it concise, I don’t care for any self loader. Too many decades with a S&W in my holster or in my hand. Not to say they aren’t good, just they don’t answer my needs. Kevin

.38 Special 148 grain wadcutter loads using Bullseye

I competed in PPC. Started with swaged bullets, bought a half pallet at a time. 2.8 grains of Bullseye was the ticket in my revolvers. Eventually tried cast wadcutters. Bought several different molds. Eventually settled on the Lee wadcutter and found 2.8 was still the right number. At some...

    Gunbroker seller not responding

Then don’t send money until you are sure he is ready to ship. If he is working on “his time” you might be waiting longer than you care to before you receive your item. Kevin

Who is “proofing” these cylinders? Kevin

    Kirst cylinders proofing?;

There are no, as in zero, requirements for proof testing in the United States. So, given that, I doubt they are proofed at any level. Kevin

    We all have favorites

My favorite revolver? Well, it will be a S&W, 45 ACP revolver, but which one? I have 4”, 5 1/2”, and 6 1/2” barrels. I carry a 4” daily but really enjoy my Model 1917s. My 6 1/2 Target revolvers are fun also. Hmmm, decisions, decisions! I will need to get back to you on that question… Kevin

    45-70 Factory Ammo Question

The trapdoor action is far stronger than most give it credit for. There was a lengthy discussion about this on the Single Shot Rifle Association forum and another one on the Cast Boolit forum. Kevin

Buffalo Guns - Butcher's Crossing Film

Sorry to hear that. Around me, the most soup kitchens and similar will take any meat that has been handled at a processing center. Lots of folks are hungry. Kevin

Buffalo Guns - Butcher's Crossing Film

Here is my Big Fifty. Here is a thread I did on it years ago. Photobucket ate my images but the process is outlined. https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/a-different-trapdoor-rebuild.589227/ If you have questions pm me rather than derail this thread. Kevin

Buffalo Guns - Butcher's Crossing Film

It can be argued that the 50-70 probably accounted for more bison than any other cartridge. I know the more I use my 50-70, the less use I have for the small ore -70. Kevin

    45-70 Factory Ammo Question

That’s it exactly, it all depends on what your rifle prefers. Kevin

    45-70 Factory Ammo Question

When I was heavily into the 45-70, I found the Trapdoors shot best with the largest bullet I could fit in the case and chamber. Two of mine ( one rifle, one carbine) needed .461 to function at their best. The Lee hollow based bullet can mitigate some of those problems if cast soft enough to...

    624 3” vs 625 MTN .45 Colt?

The bullet on the left is cast from the SAECO 453 mold, a 235 grain WC. The middle bullet and one on the right are both 260 grain. They were given to me to test, I will have to look at my notes to find what molds. I load one load for 17 revolvers, ALL bullets are sized to .454. That size gives...
