Honey Badger having a less 25% special on everything. Going to pick up more of their ball bearing flippers to give as gifts. Any other special deals out there? I received this by email.
Fred Burger makes one of the best sword canes out there. The quality of his workmanship is superb and he is a member of the knife maker's guild of South Africa and walks away with the prizes in this category year after year.
I have had the privilege of visiting his shop in South Africa a couple...
I added a few more Honey Badgers for me and for gifts taking advantage of their less 20% and free shipping website special.
Any other great deals out there?
I went on a mission to customize a few stockman canes. Hand finished, carved, oiled and polished.
The one on the left is a heavy 1.25" hickory hexagonal cane weighing about 1.2lbs.
In the middle is one made of ash weighing .85" weighing 0.7 lbs
And on the right is another hickory, smooth finish...
The ball bearing honey badger flippers open very easily even when wearing gloves. This gut hook skinner works great for slicing seat belts and air bag curtains.
Many models all under $40 except for the ones with D2 steel.
I have the stropping bug really bad! Recently added a horse butt strop which is pure magic. This after some very basic freehand sharpening on a Norton India stone followed by a a Shapton pro 2k.

On the folder side the Honey Badgers have been great value ($32-$36). They seem to be adding new models and features which is nice.
The ball bearing action flipper is very slick. I...
Yes, does look like this went a bit sideways!
Anyway to put things back on track, here is my large limited D2 model with red back spacer. Also has reversible L/R pocket clip.
I have had the pleasure of meeting Chris a few times both in South Africa and in the USA. Strangely enough I Still do not own one of his folders but do have one of his one piece Shadow fixed blades.
I have carried the large black one in picture for over a year. An injury to my right thumb means that I struggle to open thumb hole knives. The ball bearings in this flipper really make life easy for me.
I am going to take advantage of this special to get a few more to give away as gifts.
Just received an email saying they are having a prime sale on the small and medium models (under $30) with free shipping and an extra spacer allowing you to personalize the knife. Only on their westernactive website. Here are 3 of my current models showing sizes.
@RA40 pleased that my post motivated you! Post a photo when you're done.
@earlthegoat2 yes I agree. I have made one with smooth side up no compound and also tried smooth side up with compound. It took a lot more work but did manage to get the compound to stick. It's fun experimenting.
@Fiv3r now...
