It will remove the finish!!!!!
Arc,
You are kidding, it will remove the nitron finish on the sig 229? Thank god I didn't use it. What can I use to remove the small specs on my slide of rust? Without harming the finish then? I used some 000 pad which helped remove most of it, it only...
Hi,
I got a Sig 229 with a nitron finish. I just bought this Bullfrog product and read the label. It says to apply on the metal (gun) , let it sit and then rinse with water. I haven't tried that since that 'water' part worries me.
I hope anybody can give me some feedback since I don't...
Is the nitron finish durable from Holster and use wear? I don't understand why put it on a stainless slide. I wonder how good is the finish from holster wear.
Can anybody elaborate why they put Nitron finish on it?
thanks,
recoil springs are factory strenght (16 lbs)
I ordered factory strenght springs. Still the recoil springs are lot longer than the original springs that come with the gun. I noticed that the original springs besides being shorter they are thicker.
just got a recoil spring from Wolfgunspring. One thing I noticed is

Man, why does it always all the 'agents' die so easily by the bad guys!!!! You might think they are highly trained and at least one of them can hold them off a little longer.
Yes, the Sig 229 is a Stainless with Nitron finish
Yes the 229 has a stainless steel slide with a nitron finish.
Will this wool scratch off the nitron finish?
My Sig 229 has some tiny rust spots on the rear top of the slide. Since this is a Stainless Steel on Nitron finish, what can I use to remove the rust without affecting the finish?
thanks,
Holsters and gun finish wear
When you mean 'lined' holsters, do you mean the ones made by nylon? Yah, the main reason I was looking for Stainless Steel guns is that they don't suffer from wear since its stainless steel and not painted.
The holsters I use are IWB holsters which are made of...
Guys,
I currently have 2 guns:
1) Walther P99 (9mm), black finish
2) Sig Sauer 229 (9mm), stainless in Nitron finish
Since both guns are in black, I can't carry them much cuz the finish wears off easily with the holster wear. So I am looking on the Stainless Steel finish. But...
will be ok to be used on the P99?
Will it affect the P99 slide in any form? Since it is tennifer coated and has the black finish?
Is this protectant ok on all types of guns? or do I need to watch out on which ones to apply on?
thanks
Hey guys,
I just bought this product, but I am very very skeptical on using it. Since I do love my guns to mess it up with a product like this. Has anybody used it? I got a P99 and a Sig 229. How will it work for them?
thanks,
Plastic hosters like Forbus are meant for stainless steel only
I am sorry but I think Holsters like forbus should only be used with stainless steel finish guns. Any other finish it will end up scratching it like a catfight.
Hey guys,
Besides my Walther P99, I ended up buying the Sig 229 in 9mm. I does feel like a real gun compared to the P99. I don't have any gripes with the P99, but sometimes I feel too concerned of messing up the gun. Like its a luxury car that you are too concerned where you drive it and...
