removing .223 crimps with a drill bit

I recently removed crimps from some .223 brass with a coutersinking drill bit. I only cut off enough to allow for primer seating and all the primers seemed to seat pretty snug. I did notice however that now it looks like the case is chamfered around the primer. Do you guys think this is cause...

    resizing issue wit .223

These were range pick ups. I think I just didn't lower the ram all the way on these cases, causing the issue with the partially sized necks. They are being shot out of an AR. Is there a way to check if they will chamber safely? If not, what case gauge are you guys using.

    resizing issue wit .223

I just finished loading a batch of .223 rem and noticed that about 50 cartridges out of the 300 don't seem to have been fully sized. I noticed that the necks of these cases only show marks from my lee dies about halfway down the neck. I don't have a case guage but was wondering if anyone has...

Pistol won't go into full battery

Thanks for all the input guys. I decreased the OAL on the reloads by about .015" and it seems to have done the trick. I shot one hundred rounds through it today and did not have a single failure.

    .223 Load for 55gr and 77gr

My favorite AR load happens to be a start load from my hornady 7th ed. manual. 55 gr fmj over 20.8 gr of H335. 2.2" col and cci #41 primer. This load will hit chest sized steal targets out to 300 yds on a red dot sight without even trying hard. The #41 primer will prevent slam fires if using...

    Loading .45acp

Didn't notice what type of pistol is being fired, but make sure that it is ok to fire lead bullets in your particular pistol if you choose to do so. I think Glocks and lead Projectiles is a big no no.

    .223 H335

Just to add another referance,my hornady 7th ed. load manual says to start with 21.8 gr and lists a max load of 25.7 gr of h335 with a 50 gr projectile. I guess the important thing is with whatever start load you decide use, make sure to look out for signs of excessive pressure from the cases...

Pistol won't go into full battery

I pulled the barrel out of the pistol last night and dropped a hand load into the chamber, when I inverted the barrel, the round would stay in the chamber. I repeated this with a factory round and the round falls out freely. I think it probably has something to do with the shoulder on the...

Pistol won't go into full battery

Any ideas why my handloads for my Smith and Wesson MP 45 won't go into full battery at least once for every mag loaded. I am loading 230 LRN over 7.0 gr of HS-6. Thanks in advance

Curently in the market for a .308 range queen.

This Howa M1500 Did This at 100 yards with my handloads. 3 rounds. For a gun priced under $600 with scope when on sale, its kinda hard to beat.

Yeah you can adjust it by screwing the rifle charging die in little by little to adjust the actuating arm travel.

    Howa M1500 Tactical

Update..Married ammunition results. Handloaded some rounds with the bullet sitting .003" off the lands which gave me a total length of 2.253" from case head to ogive. I was testing a few rounds using Varget which yielded all 3 shot groups between 1/2" to 1.0@ 100yds. After letting the barrel...

Harder to close bolt with fire formed brass

Thanks for all the input guys. I was using a full length sizer to gapped at the shellholder to try to neck size but it wasn't working so I just full length sized all the cases and will neck size on the next batch with a lee collet die. Thanks for all your input. All of you guys have been a...

Harder to close bolt with fire formed brass

I never tried chambering a spent case before resizing. So given that my cases are below the max length and I use the lee collet die to neck size, is there anything else I need to worry about. This is my first time loading for accuracy in a bolt gun so forgive my nooobness. To clarify, i can...

Harder to close bolt with fire formed brass

Is it normal to have a bolt that is harder to close if using fire formed brass. I just started reloading for my .308 Howa 1500. I set my Lee die to neck size by leaving a gap about the thickness of a penny between the die and the shellholder. The sizing marks on the neck cover tabout 2/3 of...
