FedEx is mess internally. Can't tell how many times they've messed up delivering hazmat materials for work. Couldn't get a straight story on where and why the package was delayed. Seems to be a matrix of conflicting rules on what can go on a plane (or truck) all designed to randomly delay...

You'll need a cheekpiece to use any of the basset mounts comfortably. I have the medium (or high) mount and it works well, Irons are clear, but the cheekpiece required to use the scope well has to come off to make the irons easy to use. Had an ARMS mount that I really liked (very low mount)...

the old battle rifles site had a number of positive posts on using Fairtrimmers (http://www.fairtrimmers.com) after basic cleaning. I've used it on a three rifles and it's done a nice job.

I have one of the Uberti/Cimmaron Open tops - army grip, 45 schofield, 7.5 inch barrel. Its as accurate as you can imagine with the notch rear site. Very nice, smooth shooting handgun.

Savage Mk II = various configurations and budgets. good price points. accurate CZ = sporty, well made, pricier, more classic lines. can't go wrong with either

DSA is selling carbine uppers for around 300 depending on options. Haven't heard too much about their 223 ARs. Nothing bad anyway. The are the class of the field on FAL's though. I have heard good things about their AR uppers in 300 BLK. Great prices and they have a decent service reputation.

My resolution is to sell one (or 2) to buy one. Self funding and thinning out the herd taking up my safe.

CDNN are great people with excellent prices. Buffalo Arms has very good service (nice to have percussion arms shipped right to the house) and a great selection Midway could teach many others how to run an online retail business.

The prices are absurd only if you pay them. Here there are a number of larger dealers who regularly show up with good selection and reasonable prices. you can dicker a bit, but they price low enough that they don't have much margin to mess with. The rip-offs are usually the smaller tables...
